Had both outer CV boots replaced about a month and a half ago. Recently I noticed a knocking type noise whilst driving straight, and then a clicking whilst turning also. Car went on a ramp for ABS sensor and at the same time I realised the drivers side CV boot was leaking, same side where both noises seemed to be coming from! So I've just had it replaced by the same garage who had it done initially as it should have lasted longer than a ~month.

The noise whilst turning seems to have gone, however the knocking type noise whilst driving (fairly quick, normally under acceleration) is still there. Could this mean the the actual driveshaft needs changing?

Split cv boot wouldn't be making the noise however it sounds like the cv joint is making the noise which may have been cause by the lack of grease if the boot had split.

The boot had definitely split, and had leaked grease. How long it had been split for I'm not quite sure. If it gets louder or worse, I may just have to get the joint itself replaced then?
