It was raining pretty heavily earlier, and i noticed my key fob wasn't locking the drivers side door. All other doors were locking with the key fob, but the drivers door needed locking with the key. I thought it just needed to relearn the car, i've had that problem in the past when the battery has been off. No luck!

Thing is, i need noticed the window controls aren't working as well as the interior lights not automatically turning off.

Any ideas? The car itself is running and driving great.

This is following a trip to the garage to get a tyre swapped. I cant really see that they've done anything though, they literally just fitted a new tyre.

I was thinking of taking the car on a longish run with the heater on, not sure if that would make any difference? But maybe theres water where it shouldn't be?

Any help would be much appreciated!

wires from door to car
pull rubber boot back and repair the wires
give them a good tug as they may look ok but there broke in the plastic.

Thanks for the reply. I should add that none of the electric window controls are working. Only just thought to try the individual door controls.

still try the above
or check your footwell for water passenger side

No water in the passenger side footwell that i can see or feel. Running out of light now, so i'll take another look tomorrow. At least i can lock the car manually for now.

Ok so I've just taken a look at the wiring loom between the car and drivers door. There's a red wire which the outer has split, the wire itself seems intact (as far as I can tell anyway). However there's a brown wire that's completely broken, I can't find the other end of it yet. Is this earth?

Sorted! You were absolutely right mate! Soldered the wire back together and its working great now!

Thanks for the advice :icon_thumright:
