Well after living with the 184 Quattro Stronic Sportback for 5 weeks, my overall opinion is that I am very happy with my choice of engine, model, colour and spec. Have been driving in the 'auto' driving mode, might change to indervidaul set up mode. Have so far returned 45 mpg for the 1000 miles covered. Most of this has been distances between 7-17 mile runs. Find the seats very comfortable now I have managed to find the ideal driving position. Sunroof makes the cabin so much lighter, however not driven with it open yet so unable to comment on wind noise. Do find that there is a lack of storage spaces inside compared to last car. Would also like it to have a larger fuel tank. The 5 spoke parallel wheels I find awful to clean, regret not getting the 10 spoke design. Tyres 'conti's'are alright if below 65ish over 70 and I find they are very noisy. Only two issues I have yet to get sorted, Gala not working and the Parking sensors especially the front not working all the time . No auidable warning, which is what you want as you don't look at the display. Having said all this I feel it was money well spent....

Nice concise review. With the parking sensors it only beeps if it things you will hit. So it turning into a space and it knows you are safe, it won't beep.

Realise this, it's when I reverse into my garage I notice it most of the time. Rear will some times only give one beep, front n/S will indicate on the display but no beep or beeping, have set front to different sound from rear so I can recognise if it's front or rear, well if it does actually does sound.

Interested in understanding more about your GALA comment.

I've expressed my dissatisfaction with the audio on the standard set up on here and wonder whether you're experiencing similar issues...

So basically the Gala system should adjust the volume of the Audi Sound System, based on the speed of the vehicle. I have got it set to max, and there is no increase in the volume whatever as my speed increases.

Interesting, as whilst I have mine turned off, I note variations in audio volume, not due to speed fluctuations, but more the level of bass.

It's so obvious in fact that I can actually use the bass control as an alternative volume control.

At one stage I wondered if it was GALA playing up. So it's interesting to note you have problems in that area

Isn't that what it is supposed to do?

That is adjust itself so you dont have to as the cabin noise increases or decreases with your change of speed!!!!

OP can you clarify please ...... Are we talking no increase in volume so perceived volume reduces?

I have to manually turn the volume up as my speed increases and the noise in cabin/ road noise increases, in order to listen. And decrease the volume as speed noise decreases.

Defo sounds (forgive the pun) like it is not working, I have GALA set just over half way and it works fine for me.

Sounds like (sorry) your GALA is not working. I have the ***, and the GALA is so brutal, that I have to have it off, or can just bear it on the first click.

Good review of a car almost the same as mine. I had to turn GALA down on my B&O cos it was getting too loud at higher speeds.

Ref. sunroof. I have used mine open and it is a little buffety/boomy at speed but I usually only have it tilted at speed and open it right up when I'm 'pootling' around our country lanes. Fantastic car - best I've ever owned. Absolutely no complaints!

Now 8 weeks old, 1400 miles still stuck at 45 mpg. Still enjoying the ride and handling. Have yet to get the 2 faults fixed. In relation to the customer satisfaction survey, some 4 weeks after completing it online, had response from the dealer. But this was only from the salesman I had for the sale. Did not want to speak to him, wanted to speak to the engine driver not the *** ***.. He was told to ring me to find out why I had marked the dealership down.

The front parking sensors are deliberately a lot less sensitive than the rear (same as my current car, evoque), as they assume you have much better visibility at the front so they don't need to kick in as early

and the full "beeeeeeeep" will happen at 1m at the back, whereas more like 70cm at the front

Thanks for that, but my front is 8 to 10 inch from wall when parked and clears the door post (brick) by 6 inch max when reversing in. Most of the time no alarm noise from front, poss one time out of thirty will it make any auidable noise and then only one Beep.
