Got into my car today and found drips coming from the drivers side corner of the roof. Had so much water dripping on my right thigh it had looked like I had an unfortunate accident.

Has anyone else had this? if so, how can it be fixed? I also sometimes get a slight leak from the window if someone is cleaning with with a jet wash. Is this common, also?

Any help would be appreciated.

C heck the drain holes in the top of the door seals, they can sometimes get blocked with reproofer and the like.

I have this - if I park mine facing down hill it leaks - so I park it uphill
I clean mine out with a cycle brake cable (outer part)

This drove me mad for weeks when I first had mine. I took it to a garage who ran a hosepipe on the roof for several hours without any leaks.
They asked me how it was parked on my drive & it was indeed facing downhill.
I now park the other way in the drive & it cured the leaks.
I agree it's also a good idea to clean the two drain channels especially after winter.

I think the roof really need a little tweek to tighten it to the front (only mm)
Im sure there is a thread but looked too much for me to tackle

Thaks guys tried that and it seems to have worked. I'll give it a proper clean today i think!

Still parking it either way, but opened the roof and gave the seals a good wipe down and made sure they were clean and it seems to have stopped. I still get the odd bit of water coming in though if I get the car cleaned and they use the powerful water jets. It's usually between the front and back window. Anyone else get that, too?

The manual says not to jet wash cabs, I ignore that but am always careful what way I direct the spray. Don't know if I would trust anyone else to do it 'cause it wouldn't take much to end up with an embarrassing damp patch or 2!

I actually didn't know they advise against a Jet Wash. I have one of my own so think I will just clean the windows normally from now on and do the bodywork as normal instead of getting it done!

I used the Renevo cleaner last week with a horse hair soft brush then rinsed it and it was a crap result, I then did it a gain but used the jet wash and you could see the dirt and green crap running out.
Keep the jet about 1.5 feet away minimum and at an angle not head on and it should be fine

Agree, the jet wash cleans it better, I direct the spray from front towards back and keep it away from the top of the windows and where it sits on the boot

Only had my A4 cab for a couple of months and it only leaked the once - via the passenger door sill - probably because it was facing downhill.

Since then I've treated all the roof/door seals with silicone spray (Halfords own) and not had a problem at all, even in the heavy downpours we had.

You can also get some rubber/plastics rejuvenator spray from Autoglym which does a more thorough job.

Anything to keep the lovely leather interior dry :)

@Gonesouth

Gummi Pflege is the absolute best rubber lubricator it's awesome stuff, I've used all kinds of silicones and feeders for seals and
Gummi Pflege is the best, it actually penetrates the rubber and it absorbed the solution the more you feed it the better the results.
I find a lot of year rubber rejuvenator products actually only make the rubber appear newer and more shiny they don't actually benifit the
the waterproofing properties but this stuff is made for the job.

Google it, it's awesome mate

it's about a tenner off fleabay for 2 bottles.

I've used this for a couple of years both on my cabby & VX220 roof seals. I totally agree it's very good.

Gummi Pflege........will certainly check it out. Thanks. But the silicone spray is certainly effective on the seals.

On the roof cleaning/waterproofing front.....I tried the AutoGlym kit and was rather disappointed. The foam pad is good at cleaning the roof. However, the spray bottles are awful and didn't last very long before the trigger pump thingymebob broke. Fortunately there are alternatives.

Will keep an eye out for this stuff - is it avilable in stores or just online ?

I just bought some from Ebay and it was under a tenner all in. Will give it a go so I can finally park my car in another direction on a hill!
