My now wife ( we weren't married in 206/7) had a nogaro blue S3 for 2 years (2006/7) she traded in an A4 tdi Cabrio bought from new, saw the noggy S3 at Lomond Audi which became Glasgow Audi, bought it with about 22k miles on it, sold with about 90k miles on it after it started throwing up expensive despairs, sorry repairs !!
The steering rack decided to leak so our friendly dealer skinned us about 800 quid just to fix that because the seals became not available and the full rack needed to be changed !!!
Anyway it was traded in for a new VW EOS tdi which lasted 4 months until the roof went tits up, cut the chase, eventually the car was returned to the dealers and we looked elsewhere for a replacement: a misano red RS4 .... still got that 8 years or so now.
ANYHOO....
The dealer said that the S3 found a new home in Irvine about 25 miles from us, but in all this time we haven't ever seen it again until a few weeks prior to Xmas we went into Ayr Xmas shopping when Helen chimed up " there's a noggy blue S3 parked in the driveway over there pointing across the road, so on our way out we stopped opposite and both starred at it THAT IS your ex S3 I blurted out !!

2 weeks later I get a call from the husband if the owner so to cut to the chase I went round to see it... oh boy!! His mrs had been driving around in it with the oil warning light on for however long and as a result ****'ed the turbo !!!
so there it was sat in his garage looking like its been used for a few Mad Max film extras !!!grandkids had taken its toll badly on the interior !!!
We came to an agreement and bought it back for .. not much shall I say !
Prev owner drove it to Deutche Tech last Decrmber 14th for a service and repairs like no other car I've owned ..
The turbo intake pipe obviously wasnt like this when it left the factory
The turbo was removed and sent to The Turbo Unit in Tamsworth for examination: it was rebuilt with a stronger bearing housing and standard turbine wheels, I didn't need any hybrid stuff on the noggy.
A freshly rebuilt turbo
Back in its hole
While it was in drydock it had the following work done :
Remove failed turbo / refit refurbished turbo , new bolts & gaskets
Fit new turbo oil feed pipe
Fit new strainer and sump pipe
Replace timing belt, water pump & tentioner
Replace fan belt
Replace spark plugs
Replace engine oil, air and pollun filters
Put in fresh oil
Replace haldex filter & oil
Replace turbo intake hose
Replace can cover gasket
Replace bootlid trim
Replace broken armrest mount under the centre trim
Passenger side lower ball joint replaced
Headlight washer pump replaced ( not washing headlights )
Replace driverside front spring
Investigate why the cooling fan not cutting in when up to temp: further investigation found a broken wire in the loom under the battery tray, wire loom section replaced
Engine management light was on because the lambda sensor had died so that's been replaced
Replace glovebox front because little feet had scratched the tits off it !!
Replaced the lights switch & surround because it was also scratched to death !!
Investigate why the radio only like static FM:
This is the circuit board under the roof mounted arial !! Needless to say its been replaced and the sealed
The driver door blade was getting pushed off its mounts because of rusting bubbles along the bottom if the door,
so a door was found on eBay that was noggy blue but didnt have the mirror, interior doorcard or window mechanism on it, so it was given a fresh luck of paint and the drivers door was replaced and rebuilt up with new glass runner guides and also a regulator for the passenger window !
Last but not least it was given a new registration number
Last weekend I decided a clay bar and wax polish was order of the day
Sporting the Nuvolari rims bought from Gmac
So... after nearly 6 months in and out of A&E and an mot resulting in new brake lines and driveshaft gaitors being required and rear drop links its back in a resembling condition it was in back when we last owner it.
Not bad for 172500 miles eh
