Audi RS experience @ Silverstone

Since this guy is obviously full of $h!t I doubt he is a reliable source...

Anyway, I had a TTS with LC for 4 1/2 years and only tried launch a couple of times just to see. I've been driving my RS3 for 2 years and never felt the need either. Such time as I line up against a 911 at the lights I might give it a go. Otherwise the car really is more than quick enough without resorting to launch.

HELLO!!! I'm with you 110% dbm. Tis about time others woke up to the fact that the RS3 in any and/or every circumstance is a rather quick piece of machinery; and with little or no need of resorting to electronic assistance... :w00t:

And the handling superb, on either ContiSportContact 5Ps or Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres - still pondering this one even though I'm now on 255/30 and 235/35 MPSS's...

The standard brakes too are fantastic; more so once some German manic WRC rally experienced pilot :jump: has instructed you in their use... :scared2:

just seen they added RS 6 for 2014 now.. im there! where to book WHERE!

To be fair the "And now with RS6 added for 2014" was there when we booked earlier in the year, I think they meant to say RS4..........

Can't always rely on Audi marketing to get these things right, a case in point would be during the briefing on the Audi day they showed the various cars we'd be using on screens, explaining various features (s,tronic, BHP etc......) I did notice on the TTRS they had a picture of the V10 engine next to the car !!

They could've at least just photoshopped half the engine out.......

Only used Launch twice

Once because we was curious having just bought the car and second after the 'update' to the haldex, which supposedly makes it less aggressive (saving a few propshafts i bet) but we didn't notice any difference........

Never felt any need to use it again.

It was funny at the Audi track day briefing seeing the English guy trying to explain/translate 'Propshaft' to the German guy who was doing the briefing......

ill look myself, no one appears to want to answer where to book this lol

Sean take a look at the latest and up to date bit of Audi marketing , the new 8V S3 Cabriolet "Matt Brushed Aluminium Inserts" photo of the 8P dashboard:wtf:

OK, back to the Audi RS experience @ Silverstone.

The 2nd and most probably 'lead' instructor/MAD German was Frank Schmickler; Frank is currently driving a Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 in the Bancpain Endurance Series and at date has had 2-wins from 5-races.

Last year it was a Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 in the ADAC GT Masters where he won 4 out of 16 races.

And a lot of 911 GT3 stuff before that...

Frank, born June 1965, now considers himself 'old' and now a 'gentleman' driver - not when he was in front of me in that TTRS plus he wasn't....:salute:

And the 3rd instructor was Josef Venc from the Czech Republic; another seriously quick but fast gentleman with serious kindness to anyone and everyone wanting to experience these Audi cars at FULL chat; I can only give my FULL respect to each and everyone of them:
Jochi Kleint, Frank Schmickler and Josef Venc... :applaus:
