Anyone ever removed the chrome window glass surrounds?

As the title suggests really, wanting to remove the chrome strips that run around the side window glass as I'm going gloss black. Any experience before I get the screw driver out?

I thought about replacing them with the black version or having them spray painted black, but in the end just got them wrapped in satin black - does the job, can revert at any time and is holding up well so far

It had crossed my mind but I was worried about them peeling at the front edge due to wind etc? How many miles have they held up for? Thanks for the reply.

Just over 5,000 miles so far. Been jet washed every week since then and not come off - as long as the vinyl is tucked in behind the trim it's not going to come off.

Thanks for that, I think I might go down that route now! As you say, it's removable if required. Can I ask a ballpark price for having it done? I'm guessing a pretty large sheet of vinyl is needed for the top chrome?
