I think you guys won't be waiting long if on the boat / at a UK port. Mine was super quick, 1 week after landing was at the dealer.

Was told today that mine could be on the boat on Saturday. But they said it could be 4-6 weeks until delivery... Why am I getting such long wait times? :( it's coming to Sheerness.

I think they add on a healthy safety factor. Will probably be a lot quicker. Mine landed in Tyne on Saturday and I was told 5 to 8 days to arrive at the dealer :)

Not long to go then! I bet they will have it by this weekend.

If your getting on finance try and avoid Saturday pick up as you have to wait up to four hours before the dealer will release the car while they wait for the funds to draw down.

We waited two hours and that was far too long!

The excitement is to much now haha.

I'm hoping to pick up next Tuesday as that's when I get back so hopefully I don't have to wait to long.

Did you get any freebies :)

Got some good freebies.

- £50 bottle of champagne
- The dealer box of the Autoglym paint protection (think its £300 fitted?).
- Really cool dealer branded drinks cooler / carry bag.
- IPod cables (4&5) / cable for USB
- Oil and screen wash

Didn't ask for any of it but all greatly received! The Autoglym stuff seems a con as a monkey could apply it looking at the instructions. It does not look like £300 of product either so guessing the cost is mostly labour!

I phoned Audi CS yesterday and don't bother with the dealer now as they don't know whats the stage is at. Anyway, Last Wednesday mine was being put on the train to Emden, yesterday it had arrive there (he guessed as he said the "sales team" he checks status with said that it would not leave later than the 29th and can't sit in port for more than 10 day's.

We all know that some on here have waited weeks with it "at port" so I think pinch of salt mode. He also went on to say that they don't know which port it will sail to as it hasn't been worked out yet.

Last week I was optimistic about perhaps a 31st May pickup but now maybe the following weekend....maybe.

Nice.

It's good you got the paint protection for nothing though as I noticed on my order form I got from the dealer they had added it to my order think I was £260 ish. I never asked for it but just thought what the hell. They also added rubber floor mats and boot liner. All at an extra cost.

Sneaky. To be fair this is my second car for the same dealer / salesman and noticed a big difference in overall service this time around including the whole pick up day. The only freebie we got was some flowers (?!) when we picked up our A1. Mrs loved them but made a bit of a mess on the drive home.

To be fair with the Autoglym stuff I still have got to try and apply it - I might make a mess of it lol!

when I picked up my last A3 I got a plastic 4 ring audi keyring and a hand shake.

Same sales man this time so hopefully I get something better. To be honest he's not been the best, had no updates so far, I've always had to email or call CS. Any questions about adding/removing spec, he's not been the most helpful, most information I have found out from this forum :)

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. My salesman first time round was super uncommunicative. I think he and the dealer have had a kick since as it's very slick now and he emailed me every 4-6 weeks with an update. Had to do no chasing. Also all my requests for the car such as what number plates I wanted etc were met with no hassle.

It will all be worth it I promise. I can not explain in words how great the S3 is.

You're not wrong! Just had an email from the dealer saying that it's on the ship today and will be arriving in Sheerness tomorrow!! Was only in Emden for 5 days :)

Pick up on Thursday for me and hopefully all going well it won't be to badly prepped for its Saturday and Sunday detail :)

Anyone with a week 20 build know if theirs has left Emden for Blighty yet?

Nope not yet, Mine arrived in Emden on Monday, been looking at ship movements and one arrive in Sheerness in the early hours yesterday and left to go back this afternoon, another is on its way to sheerness and arrives later tonight.... hope might gets picked up tomorrow... fingers crossed!

How do you know what ship your car is on and how do you track it? Mine hasn't built yet but wondering.

Google Marine Traffic, then search port of Emden. you can look on there to see what is coming and going.

Thank you, but how do you find out the name of the ship? Or do audi only use the same ships

Depends where it's going. I never got the actual name of the boat until it was on it, but I knew which ones to be looking out for.

Do you know which port your car will be coming into? Tyne, Grimsby or sheerness?

It will be Grimsby. Dealer has been good and sent me a screen shot with build week, code number, port etc on a weekly basis. I know it's premature but just interested for when my car is actually built. Appreciate the help

I think Grimsby usually use ships with highway in the name, for example "African Highway".Once you get an update your car is in Emden, just keep an eye on the Marine Traffic website, and look out for these vehicle carriers. If you click on it you will see it's destination and ETA.

Thank you. Just reading this thread with you guys a few weeks ahead, is getting me more excited.

Yabba Dabba Dooooo. Just found out my car arrived at the dealer last night :rockwoot:

A bit ****** of as I asked him to try and keep me a reg number but he never bothered his ****, also the £495 sat nav I was going to get activated before collection has now risen to £620 :uhm: But F£^k it im to excited to worry about little things like that.

Sales man also said the might struggle to have it ready for Tuesday :scared2:

Niiice!! So does that mean they have raised the price of the SD Card satnav after you had the original quote? That can't be right!

Yea I only enquired about it last time and they said if I want it would be £495, then 2 days ago I decided to go for it and asked him to add it ready for me to pick it up. His reply today said £620 inc VAT, and requires parts from audi one of which is on back order so couldn't give me a time. I think he was just trying to pan me off as he is rushed off his feet at the moment, and said he would have to re-do the finance and order the bit. I don't really understand it as I thought it was just a case of sticking in a SD card and plugging in his laptop :uhm:. no Paying that much for it anyway, will just get the SD card for Ebay and get it activated.

You can get it off ebay but be careful that you actually get the activation code with it, as just the SD card is worthless and probably stolen as the activation code has been used.

I believe they dealer will connect car to system and "active it" and I am sure it takes like 5 minutes as it gets another code from factory to pair up, this will log on their system that the car has Satnav. I imagine the config is set and the MMI all works after that.

They seem to be charging you for an hours labour to enable it.... If you going for it I would be pushing for the lowest unit of labour for the install....especially as its a VERY quick job and a brand new car!

I looked into it for my G/F's A1 and she never wanted it.... until she actually thought about driving somewhere other than the shopping centre or work :sm4: but still haven't managed to do it yet.

Shame VAGCom can't enable it with just the code!

Suspension may look high because they do something to it for transit. Part of the preparation before you drive away is to sort suspension and few other bits

Ah, that's good to hear :)

Was thinking there was something wrong

Went to the dealer earlier. The car is being delivered tomorrow and I'll get it on Tuesday :)
They've never seen an S3 saloon, I think they're almost as excited as me!!
