Right iv ordered some red ambient lights off t8ups (thanks t8ups) and Im going to change my footwell lights to these. My question is... Is it possible to get the footwell lights to stay on permanently while my headlights are on?? Iv got a 2007 audi a3 sline, any help to possible wiring or coding would be a great help!!

It's not an option I've seen on vcds but you could re-pin it on the CE from it's original position and double up and the dipped headlight supply, this meaning they light up when dipped lights are on.

This is what i was thinking that some sort of wiring will have be done to the dipped lights. May be a stupid question but whats the CE??

CE is the central electrics module in drivers footwell behind panel, controls everything. your current supply should be on connector B pin 7, this can be doubled up with connector D pin 4 which is left headlight dipped beam.

Thank you, I'm going to have a look tomorrow see if I can see what you mean. Once iv carried this out would I still have to code it??

once you have a look you will see what i mean each connector is labbelled A to L from left to right, connector B is brown and connector D is black. as you look up at it 2nd in from left is B and far right is D. no need to code them as they will just take a feed from the dipped lights.

There's a spare fuse socket for towbar assembly in the fuse box, it's live when the engine is running, you can get a wire with a bladed fuse thingy on the end (sorry not very technical description) which you could plug straight in with no splicing required. Lights would be on at all times though regardless of headlight setting.

PS might be best to have them on constant anyway, could it maybe be a bit distracting if your interior lights are going off and on with the main beam?

Don't think that is possible on the earlier models which I have!! Got a 2007 model, but I may be wrong on this.

Not sure mines a 2010 and got the option listed. Might be possible with VCDS

Only be possible to change any functions such as brightness ect through the dis is If you have a highline CE 30 bytes long K or after, I have a 2006 with an N module that I fitted from an F and I will be able to adjust this through the dis once I fit them lol

Got the red lights this morning from t8ups so going to see what I end up with after a bit of fiddling!!

I asked this question when I switched mine over to LEDs. Unfortunately without re-wiring it's not possible on pre-facelift.
