Hi guys, you will all know this car as being owned by Dan-jnr who sold it to Marshall878 and then I bought it from Marshall

The car is a credit to the previous two forum owners, I've never bought a car with so much history and so well looked after.

The car was exactly as described which is nice so thank you Marshall and it was defiantly worth the 3hr 20min drive down at 06:00 to get it.

Done about 500 miles in 4 days and it's been perfect.

I'll add a couple of pictures but not had chance to give her a clean yet.

I just wanted to start a little progress thread as it seems to be the done thing and this car has been documented on here by the last two owners so would be a shame to stop that now.

Anyway my plans for her are;
Front bumper respray
TIP and open filter
Cat back

She already has a stage 1 map so that will keep me happy for now.

Dan

I like the extra bits you get in the audi like the velvet door seals and the retractable parcel shelf ties. :)

Best colour - Wish mine had the blue interior instead of grey leather! Looks awesome!

Thanks S3ajy I had been looking a while and decided it had to be Nogaro and have the blue alcantara interior. Best combination IMO
Although i did love the Ming blue Pearl on my old A3

As said by QK above, welcome to the Noggy crew and most definitely the best colour combo - but then again maybe I'm a tad bias :)

:s3addict:

Great to see the car still staying on the forum as well....it is a great example and nice to see you are carrying on with the odd improvement and maintenance.

Thanks kwistof you really can tell it's off the forum by the condition it's in.

Think first on my list is a full service.

Need to work out if my boost is correct too.

Nice car and as said, always good to keep it on the forum.

You'll need to be changing “4WD is for sissies” now though :)

Basically...!!!!

It was my now wife's ex S3 ( we whereby married when she owned it) back in 2006/7... traded it in after 2 years of ownership and nailed 70k miles onto it... Traded it into our local Audi dealer and never saw it again dispite it moving up the coast 25 miles or so...( the car, not us )....

Last December we went into Ayr on a Saturday morning to do some shopping in the Aygo( me driving ) when Mrs T chimes up... " oh there's a noggy S3 in the driveway over there"... so once we left the superstore we stopped outside said driveway and both looked at it... THAT is your old car Helen !!!!

She left an Audi Addict forum card under its wiper when I realised no one was home...saying we owned ut back in 2006/7 and IF you decide to sell it can we have furst dibs please?... 2 weeks later the owner rings me and asks how did we know its for sale?!!!
Obviously we had no idea whatsoever !! Cut yo the chase... I bought it back... BUT his Mrs had been driving it with the low oil pressure light on and f'ed the turbo !!!!

SO it went into drydock last Dec 14th and had a huge service thrown at it and the turbo was ripped out and sent away for refurb...
Meanwhile it had:

New grill badge
New turbo oil feed pipe
New turbo intake pipe
New sump strainer for the oil pump
New cam cover gasket
Full timing belt job done inc water pump, tentioners etc
New spark plugs
New filters & fresh oil
New haldex filter & oil
New glovebox lid as the old one was wrecked with kids foot scuff marks
New passenger side ball joint fitted
New drivers side suspension spring
Replacement thermostat & fan temp switch
Fan control unit was replaced but it was later discovered a broken Eire in the loom under the battery tray
Replacement drivers door due to blistering rust along the door blade ( resprayed as well)
New window glass guides
Replacement armrest fitted and mounting bracket
Replacement headlight washer pump fitted
Rear screen washer unblocked
Replaced the boot trim around the keyhole since it had oxidised and blistered
New light switch fitted ( scratched to buggery so wanted it freshened up
New reg plate which is very similar to my wife's imola S3 :)

LAST thing to address is sorting out the DIS display as ifs badly pixilated but that can wait for now!! Just want yo drive the dam thing again !! lol

So basically the family who had if after us and until I got it back wrecked it !!!

so by pure chance/ fluke seeing if once in 7 years ... Ice got it back up the standard if was at when we sold it:)

( sorry for the thread drift on some one else's car thread )!! :)

Collect the car next Thursday :)

Thanks jitvv and yes too hot it's cool as F**k I love it.

At a car meet and people keep having a look. Best looking car I've ever had!

What's the rim off set on our cars ?

I've seen a set of team dynamics which are apparently 5x100 .. isn't ours 5x112 ?

Do I need spacer things ?

Cheers

Noggy blue and blue only way to go except maybe grey, black and white. Congrats, nice car.

Well ordered the S2000 air filter from Euro. £12.90 delivered so I thought why not.
Nice easy fit and sounds very nice.
Very happy with it :)

I left the bottom half of the air box to act as a heat shield for now.

Just an update.

Im treating the S3 to freshen up. I'm getting a full front end respray and also some other marks sprayed (A mark on the rear bumper, one under the rear light and the boot grab handle with the classic rust bubble).

Is it possible for the Ally Grab handle to be repaired and painted or will it keep bubbling? has anyone replaced there's with a plastic grab handle (If there is such a thing?)

Quite looking forward to getting it back as it will look like new as the paintwork is pretty immaculate as it is.

I'm considering getting the wheels refurbished at the same time, my car is nogaro so what colour S3 wheels would people go for,
I kind of like the idea of standard Avus Silver or and ever so slightly darker shade of silver.

Cheers Guys
