Hi
I've recentlly managed to get hold of a used original Audi "foldaway" towbar for my A6 Avant (Part number 4F0 800 491 C) with electrical loom. Theres no instructions on how to fit it, and I cant seem to find any on Google.
If anybody can help and also suggest were I can get replacement bolts for it (as they're missing) I'd be really gratefull

Thanks

Hi, can anybody help me with the electrics, I believe it comes with everything needed (including the trailer control module) but I cant see anywhere anyone who's posted instructions on where this is mounted and how everything plugs together.
I have a copy of VCDS so I think I can code it myself !! if I can find some detailed instructions on installing the wiring

Any help really appreciated !!!!! :)

have you identified what wires need connecting as when i fitted mine all be it with an aftermarket but dedicated wiring complete with caravan charging there was a handful of positive and earth connections, then a pair of wires to splice in for the can signals to the module and one wire to spice in for the brake lights i believe.

Its an original Audi 1 with a pivoting head and activation switch that fits in by the satnav system. The wiring is Audi too and comes with the trailer controller unit. But I have no idea were this needs to be installed or were the cablng should be routed.

Best is to get yourself a version of elsawin (VW group service and repair manuals) and that will give you all the instructions to fit and wire up the harness, you can find versions of this software on the popular auction site! (sorry no direct links allowed)
