Loose Steering... 3.2 ...

So I needed some new tyres, and audi had none in stock so off to quik fit I went.

Now with new tryes installed I've noticed something maybe wrong with the steering.

With the car at a standstill I can turn the steering wheel and get no movement from the wheels?? Only when the wheels are turning with the steering work. At low speed the steering is incredibly light.. Is this normal? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

it's a feature... more power assistance at low speeds, less when fast.

No its really loose.

Also you can apply full lock when stationary and nothing at the wheels too.

This steering firmness sounds good.

Think is it was really heavy, prior to tyre change..& service. Wonder if they did something at service?

the power steering on the 3.2 is really bad, its electric, and at standstill is pretty naff /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif


before i realised it was electric PAS i revved the engine so that the wheels would turn easier /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

SO wrong was i /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
