Anyone fitted full LED rear bulbs on their B6? How does it look? Any issues etc?

Hi there,

I'm thinking of ordering some LED rear bulbs for my car seeing as it doesn't appear to have any sort of bulb sensing/canbus setup fitted.

I'm thinking of swapping out my (gone white) indicator bulbs, the brake bulbs and the rear lamps.

Has anyone on here done this? If so, what kind of results did you get? Does it look the dogs danglies? Are they bright enough? Will I get any error messages or lights? Has anyone run into any problems doing this? Will the car pass an MOT?

Cheers,

J:)

Mines LED rear clusters with LED indicators and resistors, pretty sure you can't just swap the bulbs without resistors but could always try. Issues I've hit are a very reputable seller on this forum (not to name names :ermm:) sold us ****** red indicators and one of my rear clusters has now after about two years of use started flickering. Cheap LED's are also genrally pants, my fronts are flickering like crazy.

DJ,

Thanks for the reply.

My thinking is that my car goes through brake light bulbs fairly regularly. I'm lucky if I get much more than 6-9 months out of a brake bulb.

My car does not sense if a bulb has blown at all whereas my Missus' B7 Cab tells me straight away if a bulb has blown with a nice yellow warning light on the dash.

I'm thinking that if my car can't sense if a bulb has blown then it shouldn't complain if I fit an LED bulb. I've done this before on another car and it was fine but also had a different car (a mk4 Golf) that flagged up a blown bulb light as soon as I fit them.

Will have to see anyway. I've just opted for LED rear indicators to start with. If they're cr4p I'll just shove some boggo standard bulbs in.
