Yeah I'm also interested in those springs :) looks very nice indeed! :)

Can you do me a favour and measure how much of a drop you actually get please?

Went to the garage and it turns out they ordered the 8P ones.... Looks like another week of waiting.... I will measure it then!

From looking at the Eibach website it appears its only the black Pro springs (small drop) that are currently available? The Sportlines (red) are not listed. They typically give a greater drop, and in the past at least have tended to be far more popular as the Pro springs don't give noticable drop.

It will be interesting to see the differences on the 8V.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. Seeing that Easter weekend is approaching, I don't anticipate getting them before then. From the tracking info, I believe they've left Germany, but I don't know where they are now haha.

The Pro Kit claims a 10mm drop, so by the time it settles, I reckon it will be 15mm. That's all I want. Just to close out the gap a bit. I don't wanna bag my car haha.

Sits great and I honestly can't tell much difference in ride at all, just holds the road better in the twisties :)

We have these on the shelf now for £200 delivered or £300 fitted. If anyone wants a set it is easier to ring us on 01254 883345.

Do you have a website? My car is due to arrive in June and will be wanting a set.

GNJ, can you please tell me how much your S3 has actually dropped by now the H&R's have settled?

Just trying to decide on which springs to go for

Thanks

I didn't measure it to be honest. It seems to have dropped a good 20mm though if not more.

Can we have a better side on picture too please?

Will go outside and get one when I've caught up with emails etc :)

Thanks and a good side on shot will defo help cheers

+1, Presumably the H&R springs would cause no rubbing issues for sportback owners? if you could clarify this as well please.

thanks

That would depend on a few factors like wheel and tyre size, offset and ride height, but knowing your details I would say no problems especially with your 225's depending on the drop!! 235's might rub but this is my quest at the moment to gather all the info I can before ordering wheels, tyres and springs

Am I correct in saying then that there is like a standard drop off the shelf H&R spring for the sportback like gnj are offering?

Any more photos of this car? I'm dying to see more of a phantom black car with the black style package.

Been booked in for fitting tomorrow Keyser, but the parts apparently still haven't arrived from eibach, I just have my fingers crossed ATM....

Arran, can you please remember and measure before and after the drop for me please?
Cheers mate
Hope they are there in time!!

Will do mate! I won't forget, quite curious myself, let's hope they do come in today or tomorrow. Was back home in Aberdeen over the Easter weekend, have to say there are certainly more 8V S3's buzzing around compared to the number there are here in London!

Springs are getting fitted at last :D pics and drop to follow....

Right so FINALLY I got the Eibach Pro kit lowering springs, after the fitting we measured it to drop the S3 by around 20mm, and have been told by the garage there should be an overall drop of around 25mm once it's settled over the next few days... we shall see......
I think the stance is quite good now though and feel once it 'settles' it should be perfect, without getting that bagged look. As for the springs themselves, I've just driven the car around in the wet for the past 2 hours and certainly feel the handling has improved (can go into bends a little quicker and power out slightly earlier, also feel the steering has become a bit more responsive! this might be me though haha) and there is less body roll compared to before. I shall be taking it for a spirited drive again in the dry and that should prove how good the springs really are.

Anyway, needs a wash but here are some pics:
Before

After

Hope this helps! I'll take a few more pics in a few days to see if there is any change.

Interesting pictures, thanks for taking them. I must admit if I'd only seen the after pictures I wouldn't have known it had been lowered. Some more measurements both front and back in a few days would be helpful. It's the front in particular where the standard arch gap is in need of reducing.

Looking good Aran I see you've had your wheels sprayed as well. Im waiting for VWRacing to release there spring kit they've been testing on their mk7 golf R safety car, plus some arbs no doubt.

Yeah got the wheels sprayed couple months back to go full stealth. Have to say the springs have hardly compromised ride comfort, hope it does settle down a little more- hopefully 5mm, will post with more measurements start of next week

Afternoon guys

Had a price of £174.00 to fit only, I will buy springs, a set of H&R, Eibach or ST springs to my S3 SB.

Haven't a clue which ones to go for so any help would be greatly appreciated. How much drop would I be looking at with the 3 different types? Running 19s with 225/ 35 /19.

I payed £290 including fit for the eibach's, the drop I've had are 25mm ish all around, I would say it looks perfect at the rear but the front could drop a few more mm.

Copied from the other thread, I went for ST by KW 40mm springs.

I had the S-line suspension before. I've been out all day today and the ride quality is definitely unchanged from factory. I've not had a chance to measure the actual drop yet but it's definitely not 40mm, as expected.

For the cost, I'm pleased with the results. Would love it a bit lower but didn't fancy getting coilovers since this is supposed to be the sensible car. Will get some spacers for the rear and take some proper pics soon
