S3 standard 9 points, two SP30's so not too bad I guess, 11 NCB, and I'm 30 this year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Best quote is with Directline at £499 with protected NCB and a £350 Excess.
One compnay claimed a £400 window screen excess what's so special about these front screens?
This looks like a good price to me, anyone in the same boat as me points wise with a S3?

S3 Standard, 1 SP60, one TS20 (double white line infringement) 12 NCB and 31. I pay £480 with Privilege with a £75 window excess and £200 general excess.

So thats about right but the difference is probably in the postcodes.

well i'm 28, have no points/claims in 11 years and i pay £750 year.

I wouldn't classify norfolk as the crime capital of the UK either, but those pigs are known to to carjack every now and again.....

i think i'm getting shafted.

Yes you are unless you live in the medowell estate in North Shields

Just spoke to them, the window excess is incorrect, problem is I do I have an induction kit (CAI) and a set of H&R lowering sprinsg too to have fitted. Just been quoted £600 with the mods and points and protected NCB, also garaged.

Still seems a good price. I'm 29, no points or claims, full breakdown cover, private carpark, West London, £50 windscreen and £150 everything else and I pay £654. Go for it!

I'm a similar age on an A3 1.8T Sport and I pay £1279 a year!!

I only have 6 points, but they are for driving without due care and attention.

So overall, your quote doesnt seem too bad i suppose.

Are you kidding me!? I'm 22, 2 years NCB and 320bhp all mods declared, paying £1100 for unlimited mileage!!

Someone needs to shop around...

Did you read the bit about 6 points for careless driving.................

That was the cheapest quote i got :-(

My insurance is due and i have been holding off until pay day next week.

27, live in Acton, London no points and had a DUI 4 years ago have 7 NCB just got quoted £590 from RAC inc legal, gaurenteed replacement car etc £200 excess and £50 widscreen.

I was paying £680 but with installments £830

This year Admiral, sent me my renewal in installments for £960.

RAC will charge me £10 to pay £300 now and £300 in 6 months. So considering I think its not a bad deal

Even when i phoned Admiral and told them i want to cancel, she asked why etc and then came back to me and said "we can do it for £700"

Still not £600 so she got told to FO!

Take it sounds like a good deal /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's not that... He has a CAT1 Alarm/Immobiliser....

...A moat with drawbridge; three dragons working shifts 24-hours; stormtroopers on home-game weekends, and the car's got racelogic traction control, deflector shields and cloaking device! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Regards,

Rob.

Going to try A Plan and Privilege too.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Motorbike Insurance is due at the same time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

bell Insurance quoted me 390 quid for my A3 1.8T and am 30 yrs old.

Just got flashed in hire care doing 50 in a 40 :S..

am waiting to see if they do actually give me a penalty as I'm trying to be awkward and asking for evidence and certificates of calibration.

theres a better one than that atm for speed cameras, read it in the paper the other day. Apparently theres a pre-written letter on the internet you can download and sign. All it basically says is that you confirm that you were driving the car at the time, and that you acknowledge the law-breaking, but because you were not cautioned before charges were raised, you cannot be charged.

Apparently its working.

moreso, it'll only work for so long because its going to the high court for a test trial (or something like)... In the meanwhile, such responses are not getting taken any further (if you beleive the nationals)..

You got a link to the letter?

unfortunately not atm, if you have any old copes of MCN knocking about it was in last weeks edition (5th april)...

still looking for an online copy.

I asked for evidence and was sent three pictures of me on my motorbike /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Did not ask for evidence of calibration, not sure you can beat the system?

Just bought a RoadAngel 2.

I thought self incrimination was a breach of human rights or something. Surely if you were on your bike your face was hidden by the helmet, so it should be down to them to prove it was you.

Yes, but if it was not me riding the bike, then who was it?

Postcode is the biggest problem I find.

I'm 27 with full no claims and paid £500 until recently. I moved house 10 mins up the road and my insurance went up to over £700!

I got insurance in the end, mods don't help very much, but I thought it's best to be honest.

£600 on the nail with fully protected NCB, car lowered with an induction kit if I fit an exhaust, DV then no extra cost.
If I do chip the car its an extra £60.

Brentacre Insurance spk to John 01792 650933 he has a modified car scheme

Had to pay motorbike insuarnce on the same day @ £200 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That's expensive, must be your postcode! I've never paid more than 800 a year on my S3(this year was £680 I think), and that's with my remap, wheels and suspension all declared! I've also noticed that my 6 points I got earlier this year made sod all difference to my Passat premium, which was £350 with alloys and lowered suspension declared!

Ouch,

A3 TQ, 23, 5 years no claims protected.......£540 (business cover)

Also with admiral :hi:

Some of you guys seriously need to shop around. £100+ per month just on insurance is crazy. I was payig that when I first got my licence back after a totting up ban and that included business cover.
I now pay £228 with SwiftCover (AXA), but I am an old f*cker.
This was via confused.com, which is a pain to use, but at least you only have to go through the headache once.

28yrs no points (at the mo got the budget tneeds a top up letter this week)
£448 with Direct line in standard form

D

Just got 970 with 350 excess and protected NCB.
I'm 22 with 6 points and 1 claim.
Revo Declared.
