Have seen that there appear to be different types fitted to the cars. Would be interested to know what tyres have been fitted, to the cars and which model and which build week. Can not conduct poll on each tyre and every build date and model of car, however will start one for makes of tyre. I have Continental Continsportcontact 5, fitted to my TDI Quattro, sorry forgot BW 11. Is there a reason for the differing makes or is it just down to the stock of a particular tyre running out?

I have Continental Continsportcontact 5 on my 1.4tfsi 140 COD bw10

2.0 tdi sline saloon - Continental sportcontact 2 225/40R18 92Y

Pirelli Cinturato P7 on my 3dr 184 TDI.... Build week 8 I think

Continentals on the S3.
Poor tyre.

Don't you think much to them?

Nope, assists in causing the car to understeer (they lose grip in damp conditions) and are quite noisy.
There are tyres that would be far better on the S3.

I was somewhat annoyed not to get Continentals on mine, but have to say I'm quite surprised by the Pirelli's, very sure footed, even in the wet.

My new 2.0TDI-184 s-tronic quattro that I collected yesterday has Dunlop Sport MAXX RT tyres which is great as they are as quiet as the same size Hankook Ventus S1 evo tyres that came as standard on my last A3 and one of the tyres I would have had by choice.

The car was Build week 12.

Anyone with s3 had anything other than continentals?

I'm picking up my next 8v s3 in next couple of weeks. Would be nice to have a different tyre this time.

I have Pirelli on my sport - build week 3 2014

The tyre maker seems to be at least partly determined by the wheel size, looking at what's been listed above.
(Conti's on my 18's)

They're way better than the Bridgestone RE050s they used to fit to the S3.

Those were truly awful in most conditions.

Continental SportContact 5 on my SB S line TDI 184 quattro. BW8

Don't know why everyone has a downer on this tyre... Much quieter than the Conti SportContact 2s I had on my Golf V6 4motion...

Conti's on my soon to be S3, build week 10. That's in 19's. Conti's were the S3 recommended and tested tyre. Any replacements on maintenance plan will be conti's too

delivered week 4.Conti contact5 on 1.8 saloon 235/35/19. Seem a little noisey

Poor tyre.

I agree. I used to have a Focus ST which had Conti 2s on it. Didn't actually like the car. Changed to Eagle F1 a/s and it was like a different beast. Same with the conti 3s on my Focus RS. They just don't seem to work on our roads. I'm hoping that the car will come alive when I change tyres cos as is it makes the car pretty average and I feel it has a lot more to give.

People shouldn't underestimate just how much difference a good tyre makes to how the car drives.
I might change mine soon, so if anyone wants some S3 Continentals that have only done a couple of thousand miles, then mine may be available for a cheap price soon.

Continental SC5 on my Sportback s-line. BW10 2013.

Changing to Goodyear Eagle F1 ASY2 soon. Rotated the wheels so I could change all four at the same time.

BW 9 - Sportback 1.4 TFSI SE 122 - Pirelli 205/55/16 - quiet as a mouse!

I agree tyres are important but have no criticisms of Contis so far. Will see how they wear, can't be any worse than the Bridgestone rubbish we had on 8P

BW12 - Pirelli Cinturato P7's - SB Sport 1.2 S-Tronic

BW 15, continentals, S Line SB on sport suspension, not what I was expecting after all the reviews I don't find it noisy on the road/mway and suspension is brilliant!!

No idea on my build week, I'm afraid. I picked the car up from the showroom on 13 Oct 14, if that helps anyone 'in the know' with figuring it out? Anyhoo, it came with Continental SportContact 2s in 225/40/18 flavour.

Not sure of a build week as first thing I knew it was at the dealer's yard but estimate BW 46. Standard e-tron 17" are Pirelli Cinturato P7 BLUE 225/45 R17 91V AO
