well just got told my DSG control unit is beyond repair and I need a whole new metatronic unit £1500 inc vat for the part , its such bull that these DSG units are so bad 57k and full Audi history and its stuffed , my 740 BMW had over 160k on its tip box and no problems

With some, you can claim for mechanical failures as well as accidents.
 
Ive never heard of that , might have to look at that
 
I've heard of it, but never actually done it myself. As you say, it has to be worth looking into.

never known anyone claim for a repair from car insurance
unless they take a warrenty out
 
I knew someone claim for a blown engine - threw a rod when he drove through a pool of water IIRC! but that was many moons ago.
 
yeah flood damage is included in policy
 
Even so, maybe the insurance co can get Audi to pay out? They're the ones that gave it a clean bill of health.

I'd certainly be exploring the possibility anyway. :)
 
What did ECU testing say about it? What was the reason it was unable to be fixed?

Waiting for the paperwork but that its beyond repair and they will ship it back to me with the report
 
just crash it into a ditch? lol. pref downhil if the car wont move blame the crash damage on it not working ;)

Nice top range a3. Shame to hear it go on such low ks. No recalls on this model from back then?
 
DSG Mechatron unit replaced and im up and running again
