I will start off

Canon 50D

Studio lights ETC, ETC

I mainly shoot landscapes, Motorsport and still life.

Well being a newbie, I have a Nikon D3200, two lens's both kit 18-55 and 55-200. Now I need to grow my collection.

I did have EOS3 & EOS 10 film cameras but when I went digital I made the switch to Nikon. Happier with Nikon, just works for me.

Canon but mainly use my gopro plus black edition as it's far better than canon, looking to buy Nikon soon but currently saving for upcoming mods...

Anyway has gopro?
I wanna starting filming some slow mo but need to mount inside the car so my steering wheel and dash as well as windscreen is on display ...
Any idea anyone!?

No, just googled it, not used it myself. I would like one but new car will have integrated headrests (S5 super sport seats) so I will now just use my tripod with legs splayed across back seats and tethered with seat belts.

Imo the Nikon is better for true colour, sharper than canon at top of the range.

No malice intended, all members have the option to post as much or as little as they like, or nothing at all (inside ASN rules)

I'm not by any means an accomplished photographer, I was lucky enough to have some unexpected cash turn up and I decided I wanted to follow a hobby I love with some better kit. I do this for my own personal satisfaction, and have never felt the need to advertise the output. I've taken the odd half decent (lucky!) shot over time, but by the law of averages anyone will. I just love taking pictures full stop, I'm never going to be someone who seeks recognition (and strap lines every photo I take with my own fictitious photo company branding!). That said, as you've asked, tonight when I get back to my Mac I'll put a couple up but don't get excited, I'm NO pro! (And I won't be offended by criticism )!

I take photos for pleasure, I'm not a professional, however I do tag them with my web page address "philseagust.co.uk" as I have had several photos stolen over the years and used for commercial purposes.
A camera is only a camera when it's in your hand and your taking photos, all the rest of the time it's an expensive paper weight. 😃😃

I am far from being an accomplished photographer, I don’t even edit my photos, apart from the odd crop, its just a hobby I love.
Imo I don’t think anyone posts photos in here for recognition, I know I don’t, its just nice to share learn and be inspired with others who have similar interests.

A Panasonic DMC-TZ10 and a DMC-TZ40, both superb stuff-in-the-pocket cameras giving excellent results.

However, I've recently sold: 2 x Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 cameras both with Leica 28-90mm f/2-2.4 lens, and a Nikon F3 HP with 50mm f/1.2, Nikon 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5, Nikon 35-200mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens, Nikon 25-50mm f/4 Lens, Nikon MD4 Motor Drive, Nikon DW3 Waist Level Finder, and Nikon SB16 Speedlight, etc.

And from selling that lot my replacement is a Fujifilm X-E2 with a 35mm f/1.4 plus an 18-55mm f/2.8-4 lens - and cash in hand. Not done much with this machine yet but it does look like an interesting tool.

Already looking forward to taking some ghostly pics...

A panasonic tz 20 but even that's too complicated for me.

What's the best compact point and shoot do you reckon?

I would suggest to get used to how the TZ20 works, its a cracking bridge camera with a fantastic lens.
Just put it on auto and let the camera do its work. Once you have downloaded your pics right click on the photo/ properties / advanced and it should tell you the camera settings that were used. This will give you an idea what setting does what.Once you have a basic idea just get out there and shoot stuff and have fun. You will soon find its relaxing and rewarding and you will soon start to get really good results.
Good composition is the key, you can photoshop and edit all you like, but if you start off with a crap photo, you just end up with an edited crap photo.

I usually (99% of time!) leave it on AE but the flash can be a ******, it can be switched off but not forced in that setting and going into the menus can get a bit heid nipping ( for me ). Couple of years ago we came back our hols and half the photos were in sepia, still not got a clue how that happened!
I bought it about 2 or 3 years back because of the reviews, it does take good quality pictures but I just wish it had less, a lot less, settings. At least I've mastered the VCR though!

Instead of AE, set it to P, pretty much the same thing but you can adjust a few things, including turning the flash off.
