MPG 36.04 ????

Well there must be something wrong with this Audi... im getting 36 mpg which is a mix of city and motorway!!... and i drive sensible.. the car is standard 140 no mods....

Any one got any ideas on how to improve this... i keep the revs between 1.2 and 2k all times and i drive it slow.. this is the best i can get out of it !!!

shes coming up tothe 130k mark... so does anyone know what parts would consider to be making the mpg decrease ?
 
Yeah just increase the pressure on your right foot! ;)
 
As above, 1.2k is almost certainly labouring the engine. 1750-2500 would be better for eco driving, as it's where the engine makes its torque.
 
okay ill give it a go, maybe this is were im going wrong... i know i need to sort out my timing belt as its just been done and im sure its out on the timing...
 
Ha I missed the bit where you put decrease. Hence the joke reply from RPB.

My advice still stands though !
 
I had an awfull clicking noise coming from the egr or flap ? waiting to get it o nthe vag to give me more info.. but might be a source of why its so low... but now im keeping the revs between 1750 -- 2500 lets see what she does ill keep you posted
