Leak in the back passenger well??

With all the bad weather lately i have been having a wet car in side due to snow so on but have noticed that there seems to be a lot of water getting into the rear passengers side foot well ,i have checked all the usual stuff like windows rubbers to see if they are letting water in but nothing......The car is avant model and has not got the rail on the roof but the insert to cover this was wondering if this is a usual problem with water getting in and what is the solution to fixing it?

Bet you have a sun roof?

If so you need to get a air gun and blow out the drain lines .

Or have a look below the pollen filter the seal may need fixed around it.

That would not cause the water in the back, it would be both front and rear.

Not sure on this but I used to get a similar problem in my mk2 Golf. The cause of this was the plastic membrane between the door card and the door.

On the Golf, the seals on the window allow water to run past them. This then drains out from the bottom of the door through drain holes and then out of the car. If the membrane has been removed and not resealed properly or damaged, water can track down the door card and into the car.

This resulted in my golf having a pool of water in the rear footwell.

Not sure if this is the same in the A4 as I have never taken the door cards off, but I am guessing its the same design.

No sun roof on my car so thats ruled out

will check the seals and see if they are the same design as Golf ...worth a look

It could be the front then and the water as run under the insulation.

Try and see if the front is wet under the carpet

Mate,

I had exactly the same problem and couldnt understand why it was filling up in the rear drivers side footwell. The problem was actually a split in the bonnet release gromit in the engine bay.

Its on the Passengers side but will check and see if there is any gromits on the passengers side on the bulk head and below windscreen were the water can get in
