Wheel dilemma

Guys, Im a bit unsure what to do...

Just noticed that I had a nice big nail sitting in one of my rear tyres, which has obviously now gone flat.

My front tyres are both sitting at around 3.5m.

Should I take this as a sign to finally change my wheels, which I have wanted to do for a long time? Or should I just replace the tyre?

I quite fancy 18" RS6 as I just love the style. But are there any other styles which look good? I have a 1.9 Tdi sport.

Please give me some convincing arguements to change the alloys!

Bite the bullet and buy a new set of rims with tyres. You'll get a better price on wheel and tyres /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Do you have a local wheel supplier? If so might be worth giving them a shout to see if they can price match and it'll save you the delivery costs /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Personally, I don't think you can beat the 5 arm 18" alloys on an A3.

The new RS4 alloys rock too though!

Is there a difference in the wheel quality from different suppliers?

ie to Rochford supply a different replica from other suppliers? If that makes sense? Im just not sure who actually manufacturers all the different replicas.

Most of the decent replica's seem to e coming out of Italy. I know the ones Rocdford supply are decent quality. Several of my friends have the RS6's from them fitted to thier golfs.

The RS4 rep's I have just bought for mine came out of Italy and the qulaity is pretty good. They are also lighter than the RS6's the car came with.

Where did you get them from and what is the name of the style. They look the dogs. Are the offsets ok for an S-line and Sport without having to alter the bodywork?

stevethejambo, if you start wincing at the prices, remember to sell off your old alloys (probably best minus the tyres if they're worn) on eBay to recoup the cost.

I did this when changing the 16" alloys on my SE to a brand new set of 17" Stars. Including a set of part-worn Pirellis, and after selling the 16s on eBay, the upgrade cost was just £130!
