Anyone know if I could swap my stock turbo (on its way out) for a BBT hybrid whilst keeping safe, stock HP?

Not enough cash to change the rods and do all the stage 2 mods at the moment, but may do in the future: Seems a waste to change the turbo for another stock K04 and have to upgrade again in a few years once the modding bug bites!

Yea, it will just have to be run toned down a few notches with limited boost as you don't have the supporting modifications.
its a good idea in my opinion.

yep perfectly fine, but get it mapped "down" to suit it... bolt on with a stiffer actuator (recommended) it will overboost.

Im thinking of doing the same "future proofing", but a mapping (up or down) is around £400 for me, and I would rather save that until it is time to unleash the power. If the BBT hybrid is ordered with the stock actuator, will it still overboost?

The existing map is a stage 1 - unfortunately I dont know from who though. Is this good or bad in relation to overboost?
I have a stock BAM ECU which I plan on using for a wideband conversion, but that could wait until further mods are done...
