Ibis White-Tar city, car has never seen any products ever

Picked up a very low miles 09 plate Ibis white, it looks like it's been cleaned recently very badly, and before that it could of been years. There is tar deposits, and yellow spots. The paint is very rough indeed, and you can feel it on your hand.
I also have a yellow stain on the paint, I can only think is birds muck that has stained, its seems to be under the lacquer though. I'll get a picture up, wish I noticed it when I bought the car today :( Does it sound like a I need a whole bonnet respray?
I have a few door mark chips too, I'm going to buy a touch up pen Monday.

Anyway, I was going to start with a clay bar..With the amount of tar spots, shall I use some Autoglym first to cut it slightly?
Advice appreciated, feels like a mountain I'm never gonna climb atm :(
 
Tar removal process, is there a process ? Or just a recommended product?
I have some Autoglym tar removal that couldn't touch it :(
Is there a tutorial on using a clay bar for the first time too ?

Don't use autoglym straight on top of the tar as you will just mar your paint by dragging the tar across it. You can use wd40 on it and it will soften the tar and help with the removal if you don't have a specific product for tar removal.

Right, p***ed off the missus, and spent the whole weekend on the car.

Washed two bucket method, and used Autosmart Tardis on every panel, and removed every tar spot. I then used Iron X, and washed down. Removing the tar spots took a longer than I expected. I then clayed it, and then used AG SRP, and buffed off.
The paint has some swirls, but the car looks a million times better. I used AG plastic and bumper trim, and AG fast glass.
Next step, when I have time is use to use 203S and i have some Natty blue Wax which I'm going to give a go.
I also used Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner with very good results. I'll post a few pics in a bit. But thanks for to the forum and advice from here, the car is looking a little more factory fresh. I've still got a birds s** stain on the bonnet, which is annoying, but hope the 203S will sort it.

SRP is great at hiding swirls as it has a lot fillers more layers = less swirls

Mrs won't be happy though lol!!
 
Brilliant effort! Did you get rid of the yellow marks too? I went to look at a B8 S4 over the weekend which had lots of tar spots and lots of yellow marks.
