Welcome to my A4's diary, years ago I suffered a rugby accident and could not learn to drive a manual so I had to settle for automatics :sob:so I've never owned a top spec sports model of any car. My aim in this diary is to post general repairs and restoration of my A4. Though I may never be able to drive an S4 I will sure as hell try and build a replica (externally only). I do not currently work and am a full time daddy so finances are tied tight.

Here's a picture of it:

First things first my single din concept stereo was on the frits! The volume would stay at max! so ditched that asap for my old sony cd player. (Heard it's a common fault)

007

Then I added a decal to the rear window in memory of Paul Walker from the Fast & Furious series.

006

I then fiddled around with changing the front side lights to CREE 501 bulbs and replaced the numberplate bulbs with 1W SMDs.
012
011
Finally I had a pair of H7 Goldvision bulbs from my old VW Golf, so I redeemed them in the fogs for time being.
035

My future plans include the following:
1) A change of rear light clusters to red/clear jewel effect ones
Rear lights
2) A mesh grille with the Audi badge
Mesh Grille
3) Full interior bulbs replaced with SMDs, map, courtesy, footwell, glove box & boot
4) Pair of pressed number plates in S4 badged plate holders
5) 'S Line' badges for the grille and sides of the car and an 'S4' boot badge (My so called 'Wish Badges')
6) H7 CREEs in the fog lamps, H7 6000k HIDs in the Low Beam, will move the H7 Goldvisions from fogs to High Beam
7) Add a 'Lip' to the boot lid.
8) Repair the dents and scratches in the summer, tried painting in the winter and the results aren't very good.
9) Refurbing the 15" stock alloys, possibly polishing them to a mirror shine or paint them chrome which ever works

Later in the year or next year I will be trying to source some wheels and bumpers if I can find a cheap set, else I'll just colour code my front bumper. I'm not to keen on lowering as I don't find it practical. All in all I hope to achieve a clean car that's a little tarted up but running well in the long run, as stated above I can't drive/run/insure an S4 and this will be for the child within me lol

Thank you for viewing my diary, all feedback welcome.

Changed my HID plans for time being, instead I will be fitting Goldvision bulbs in all lights, can't be bothered with HID fitting if I'm going to replace the headlamps later in the year. Started my interior bulb to LED conversion with the sunvisor mirror lights first.

Also noticed a creaking noise when turning right on full lock, turns out the CV Boot clamp had broken off at some point.

So I put yellow bulbs in the projectors as well, looks more amber than yellow. So I'm going to to try HIDs soon and stick the yellows in the reflectors as they actually look yellow instead of amber in reflectors.

Interior Lights DONE!,

Front & Rear Maps 4x BA9s 9mm SMDs (Not the brightest during the day but that's all I could find in that fitment)
Courtesy 44mm 1W Festoons x2 Bright as HIDs in my opinion
Footwells x2 501 CREE's

Will post night shots tonight.

HIDs finally arrived, though I am to swap them later for 5000k or 4300k, way to ricer blue for my taste @ 6000k. H7's

Little holes had to be made on the light covers for the looms.

Will post a night shot tonight

Thoroughly happy with the results!

Map lights aren't extremely bright which I LOVE! both front and back one illuminate dim which is what I wanted, and the high power courtesy lights compensate very well!

Have a look

Now I bought some new sidelights, got rid of the old generation CREEs and got projector CREEs also 501/W5W, they are so bright they look light dipped lights.
045
046

And finally the HIDs H7 6000k, before I stated they were too blue, however like a fool I forgot to wait for them to fully light up, and I withdraw my previous statement, they are a good shade of white.
047

All and all happy with these upgrades. Next on my to do list is to replace the heavily oxidised & dented/scratched headlamps x2 & cracked rear lights x2.

Til then, good bye.

Small Update.

I Had to replace the indicator lamp as it was broken and kept popping out, opted for smoked ones, look nice and match the car colour well.

The replacement Central Locking/Convenience Unit came today:superman:, more or less straight forward refitting. So far I can only reprogramme one remote at a time, I have two, can anyone shed light on why this is? :think:Also I've unlocked the window open/close easter egg, would be sick if I had 4 windows and a sunroof, but still 2 windows is fine for me.:scared2:

All I'm waiting for now is a Mesh Grille, hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow.:arco:

It's been a while since I updated this blog, not much has been done in terms of modding, been pestering around with fixing a misfire issue,

1) First I replaced the Spark Plugs which made no difference
2) Then the Ignition Leads but while changing the leads I noticed three of of the connections where melted/broken and filled with oil and grim in the Ignition Coil
3) So off to Euro Car Parts I went and fitted it with the new Ignition Leads. Problem solved, no misfiring, no stalling, no excess engine shaking nothing!

Such a silly place to put the ignition coil, it was underneath the fuel rail, water tank and throttle body.

I also replaced a broken 'Vaccum/Purge Valve'

One of the previous owners had just glued the pipe onto the surface, the spout was completely broken off.

My local also told me my engine is still in very good condition @ 107K+ miles.

I still have brake discs & pads to replace as my fronts are warped! and have to find brighter footwell and puddle lights, of course a service is due as well, need to replace the nearside mirror as the heating element is not working anymore. I also need to replace the headlamps which I tried polishing but the smog is on the inside and am not confident on opening and resealing it.

Been a long while! My daughter was born 14th of May, been occupied with her n family. Neglected the car, recent MOT Passed. Needing new brake pads, discs, cv boots, cv joint, rear bearings, rear tyres & a spring!
