Did we pass you?? Hope you're enjoying yours as much!! Can't believe how beautiful she is. By the way I drove back from coventry to Plymouth yesterday doing 80mph (or 70 if you're a policeman) and averaged 31.5mph - very impressed!!

Glad your enjoying :) picked up mine then 300 mike trip home. Cruise on for most and 36mpg on trip

Hoping someone can help me here...

When i pull up at the end of my journey, put the brake in, put the gearbox in to park, the car shuts off (auto start/stop)
which is fine, and what i'd expect.

But i have the advanced key, and so now i have to start the engine again with the button, to turn it off again to get out of the car.
If i get out of the car without starting and turning off again, the car things it's still 'on' - i.e. the MMI stays up / lights on etc... but obviously, the engine never starts again from the start/stop because i've put it into park.

It justs seems to me it can't be right that i'd have to start the engine again, to ultimately turn it off again.
Am i doing something or missing something silly here?

Thanks, Matt

I would say you need to turn off the car via the start/stop button before the auto stop/start kicks in. From memory of the test drive vehicles, every time I pulled back into the dealership, I was always able to put the car in park or neutral (test drove both manual and s-tronic) pull up the electronic hand brake and push the start/stop button, never once did the auto stop/start turned off the engine, and yes, that feature was on as it did shut down the engine at red lights, it really felt strange when engine shuts down in a manual.

I am sure you don't have to actually restart the engine but just press the start button without pushing the clutch down...

You're right, thanks for your help, thought it'd be me just doing something stupid. I'd kept the brake pedal depressed, and so obviously it was re-starting the engine.

Or better, do as 99% of S3 owners do, disable this horrible PoC.

Horseshoe pass and evo triangle completed so far today. Just had a pasty in ponderosa.

More to come later...

What do these little symbols mean in the bottom right. They eventually change to the outside temp.

It shows if your passengers are wearing their seatbelt or not … it turns white if the passenger is wearing his seatbelt. The pictograms represent your other 3 seats in your car.

edit: I'm unsure if the 3 seats are the back ones only or the passenger one and the two at the back. I suspect it's your backseats being represented.

Yes it's the back seats only. Middle seatbelt is clicked in. So the middle person has changed to someone sitting in the seat.

Also just noticed I took the pics exactly 1 hour apart! Just went down on the A1 for a quick spin to new ton aycliffe and back to Sunderland. Mpg is good too.

What happens on start up? I've seen the S8 dials that rotate round to the redline and top of the speedo.

I don't remember when I started it up on the test drive.

anyone figured out how to permanently disable start stop - I can do it manually but the instruction manual is no help

It's the little things isn't it!

I can't wait for this and mostly to mash the loud pedal into the floor after I take delivery : )

Incidentally if anyone is able to show us some footage of that whole scenario I imagine it would be much appreciated here.

Somebody mentioned you can do it with VCDS, but otherwise there's no way :-(

My S3 has been to the Ponderosa several times; I have a sausage roll there. Do also like the road from LLanberis to Capel Curig, been along there several times when they were filming, last was the Evoque. Do enjoy the car but watch out for the camera vans especially if you go through Flintshire.

Quick question for the guys who now have their S3's....

Has most peoples experience been that your car has been built / delivered earlier than quoted etc?

I've been quoted week 16 (mid April) for a build and then delivered mid May time. But looking at a few posts etc seems people have been getting them circa 4 weeks early.

Wishful thinking lol?

Ordered mine last week of September and was told build week 9 end of March delivery came into build week 5 arrived 2 weeks ago and I picked up Saturday the 1st so about right I reckon

Not wishful thinking hopefully

Mine should be built in 2 weeks. Quoted delivery in mid April so 6 weeks time but expecting build to be locked this week or early next week.

I really like them. Wasn't sure when I ordered but very pleased I went with the upgrade now I've seen them with the black on black colour combo :)

Loving the all black!
Somebody else been different like me too with the 10 spoke titaniums! What do you think of them? They're actually growing on me now.

Love that all black trim.

Is the trim around the windows more glossy or matte in colour?

picking it up on sunday :D

Gives me plenty of time to clear out the garage on saturday and make room for it!

I think I prefer the titanium's more than the star design now, wish id specced them tbh.

They're glossy black. Very nice indeed. Can defo recommend esp if you're after for that stealth look! ;-)

I'm pleased with the standard S3 star design on the Sportback and they actually look darker than in the brochure which is good on a Phantom Black car.

Standard S3 wheels are perfect for the car in Sportback mode IMO.
I've changed standard wheels a number of times on a number of cars and don't think the S3 needs it at all.

When I first started looking at S3's seeing the images online made me sure I was going to pcik something other than the standard wheels. Changed my mind when I saw them in person really works on the Sportback and with Misano Red :)

Few pics after it's first detail with the newly sprayed wheels.
