Haven't had much luck in the general forum section so thought I would repost here as I guess it is more B8 specific:

Has anybody got the Eibach Sportline suspensions fitted on their car with 19" alloys and experienced any scrapings or rubbings?

Steep hills, speed bumps, curbs, rubbings or anything?

Thinking of getting them fitted but would like to know before hand if they are going to be a problem.

Don't really want to invest in Coilovers as I probably wouldn't touch them again once they were lowered.

AMD Essex seems to be doing the Eibach Sportline for £300, fitting and 4 wheel alignment which I think is reasonable.

There are a few cars on audizine forum, I am considering sportlines too with A5 wheels, which stick out a lot more than a4 wheels do and from seeing pics on there they seem fine with them
I would like to see more pics though.

Thanks davsa4, that's exactly what I needed to know, it seems your front aren't low enough to have any speed bump issues either, or any issues going up or down steep hills

How are they when at full load? Do you worry when going over speed bumps?

no problems at all ,i have 4 people in the car often also being electrician i have carried a lot of tools/drills whilst four people in the car but still no issues ,the car drive a lot better than standard with this set up and is not crashy or harsh ride at all,as stated i have had this set up for over a year on standard shocks with these springs fitted ,the car passed its recent mot this week and there is no sign of shock deterioration or leakage .

the roads around us are littered with speed bumps and i have no issues with them ,i would like to go lower on coilovers but then the speed bumps may become an issue so will keep the car as it is .

regards dav

I'm the same as you, I'm an electrician who can have up to 4 extra people in with tools,
The ET of my wheels are 32, do you think this would cause issues with rubbing with the wheel sticking out more ?
Cheers
John

Hi John

i think you should be ok what width are your rears ,this difference between et45 and et 32 is only 13mm so would be 13mm wider than mine ,on my old b7 i was running et45 with 15mm spacers so in theory was an et of 30 but i was only running 235/35/19s on 8.5 rims but they did not rub ,here is a pic of it

It's the front I was worried about I've just put 4 brand new 255/35/19 tyres on so didn't want to go down the route of changing the tyres.

not sure on front with a et of 32 and 255 tyres may be a bit close ,the pic above was et45 and 235s on front .

Think I might be better with coilovers to take the front up a little, unless there will be any difference in height with mine being the 2.0tdi.

the black one was 2.0 tdi and was on pro kit not the sportslines and did not sit as low as the b8 does ,will try and get a better pic of the front .

best pics i have

I wouldn't worry about ET32 as I have just bought some X5 wheels 10J & 9J and they are ET 45 & 48 I will also be needing some adaptors 18mm rear and 25mm front so that makes the 9J front wheel ET 22 and that will fit with a 225/40/19 and I'm quite low on coilovers.

Here's my sports suspension and they are little too high for my likings

Just had them fitted.
Difference between sports suspension:

Front = 2.5cm drop
Rear = 1.75cm drop

Seems to be perfect at the moment, may drop a bit more as it settles, hoping not too much! :)
Although numbers seem to match up to Eibachs quoted drop from standard of (-2cm from sport suspension):

Front = 4.5cm
Rear = 3.5cm

Before and after:
One side is higher than the other because my driveway is a bit wonky, but there is definitely a drop compared to before

and finally, my brown exhaust turned to chrome after a cleaning it with toothpaste, wire wool pad and some chrome polisher to finish

as you can see the difference in the tips. (Didn't even know I had chrome tips until I cleaned it lol)

Yeh I used Autosol as a finisher, not sure if it made any difference but stuck it on anyways.

That's just how I want mine to look. What's the ET of these alloys and what tyre size have you got?

They are the standard black edition alloys which are et43, tyres are 255/35/19

I have the same tyre size but have an ET of 32.
Looking at yours, do u think there would be any issues with rubbing with mine be further out by 11mm difference.

Looking under the arch can't see any possibility of rub as there's still quite a bit of space there

Haven't had a full load in the car yet but I don't think it will rub either

Not too sure about yours, but I think there are guys here with a similar set up

Do you know how bad this has changed your camber? Are you going to look at adjustable upper control arms to get the camber back to normal.

Looking at the graph provided by AMD after their wheel alignment didn't really have an issue before or after fitting the suspensions. Camber wasn't a problem so leaving things as they are.
