ABS control module replacement

I'm looking for any advice on repairing vs. replacing my ABS control module. I had the "ESP Fault - consult handbook" warning come up on the dash, and the ESP light is also permanently lit now. Having read the fault code I got: 01435 - brake pressure sensor G201 sporadic electrical fault 012 which won't clear. I know Audi do a repair kit, is it worth doing this? Or has anyone tried using a modified one from someone like Simspeed or ECU Testing?? Any help gratefully received. :keule:
 
I've had mine done with the repair kit cost me around 300 all in at a specialists garage . Perfect ever since great guys too
 
my advice would be to get it repaired or even go to audi and see if they will exchange it f.o.c , seat definately do if the car has full dealer history.
cant just swap it for a second hand unit on later models as they need recoding via the chassis number and i only know of 2 tools that can do it .

Thanks hollow, will try me Audi dealer first to see what can be got out of them!! The car is one year out of FSH with them.
I know about the recoding issue on second hand units, some companies use your existing module and modify the g201 switch to an external one, but reading up on sinspeed the reviews were not good??

bba reman do an exchange on abs units
 
I would fit the repair kit from the main dealer. Labour wise just over 2 hours, some brake fluid and parts about 140+ vat, easy enough to do. Brakes are not something you want to go cheap on or try cut corners with
 
As above, if no joy at dealership then either dealer repair kit or bba reman or ecu testing should all be Ok.
 
Well, I opted for the repair kit from the dealer @ £154, and did the job today, with my friend for help. All went well and got it done and road tested in about 2.5 hours. Brakes are all good, and about had me eye balls out of the sockets while testing the ABS. Thanks to the link

for some really helpful pointers. Brakes bleed through easily, apart from one stiff nipple (happens to us all!!!)
Faults all cleared via diagnostics, and the main ESP fault went once the battery was all reconnected.
