just wondering what everyone is getting on average?
my old sierra xr4x4 used a full tank on 290 miles but my 1.8t avant has just got 470 miles on a full tank
bearing in mind the cost of fuel to say im pleased is an understatement....:yes:

I get 250 if i'm lucky in my 1.8TQS. A lot of short journeys doesn't help, neither does quattro. I still love her though.

470 seems rather impressive though. well done.

350 ish for a 1.8 tqs, 60 mile round trips, lots of stop start stuff as I go into/out of London, so I'm pretty happy with it

I managed 460 miles in my 2.5tdi pulling a caravan for 270 of those miles, fully loaded car and max permissible weight of caravan ImageUploadedByTapatalk1391175739487941

I presume your 1.8T is a FWD model.

470 from a quattro is pretty hard going, bit easier on FWD because less transmission drag and a bigger fuel tank!

I had done just over 300 miles with the range saying 60 on it think thats good for an S4

I get around 320-340 on a full tank (tesco momentum 99), if I'm in rally mode one week i get around 260-280 :)

I need to do longer journeys! Having said that, living in a very hilly area doesn't help. Luckily I don't work far from home so my 250 miles just gets me a month of travel...nearly.

I run a 1996 b5 1.9TDI and managed to get 700 miles on 3/4 of a tank driving up to the north of Scotland.
I though I must have been imagining things so the following weekend I filled the tank up and done 500 miles and only used half a tank. The car was driven at a steady 60 and had a boot full of camping gear. Well impressed

I did a decent trip the other day and for once I turned the climate off. My mpg jumped by nearly 5mpg and I was driving like more of a nob than I normally do on long trips. I was surprised it made that much difference.

A good few years ago I had an Audi 90CD, and an Audi 90 quattro, both had 70 litre tanks, but the quattro one was a different shape as it say in the bit behind the rear seats and the boot area. I miss the 5 cylinder engines, lovely noise. I used to get around 400 to the tank, but on a run I got from Perth to Yeovil with fuel to spare

I get about 450-500 out of the 2.5TDi Qs which works out at around 38-43 MPG on a usual weekly usage, the 1.9 2WD is better, 650-700 which comes out at 50-54 MPG.

Best I got from my 2.5 was Morrisons Dundee to Morrisons Canterbury on a tank 536 miles at 47 MPG.

those figures for 2.5 TDi Q sound great!
was interested in getting one but put-off by lack of simple tuning options

I'm getting 640 to 660 on 1.9 TDi [AFN] mostly in town
regularly giving it high revs - to keep the VNT clean, of course...

I would like to get my 2.5 tuned a bit, it's a bit rich and smelly when idling. Think the EGR is possibly stuck open. Really need to get someone to sort it out, better economy would be nice, it's between 28-32 with mostly town running

I get 280-300 full tank on my 3.2 v6... If I take it easy then a bit more... I changed my alloys from s line to BBS ch and tyres to eagle f1 asymmetric 2 and mpg increased, so now getting 26-30 as opposed to 25-27...
So lighter wheels definitely helps a lot

I get about 520 miles out of a full tank on my TDiQ 170, average is somewhere around 38mpg according to DIS. Mixture of Motorway with A roads, and early morning commute to work (less traffic, cooler air) and middle of the afternoon commute home (more traffic, warmer air).

There is plenty simple tuning options, they are just not cheap ! a6 v6 tdi quattro, running 20"x9" wheels, big nozzles, big turbo and a crap remap and it does 450 miles in town on a full tank !

Getting 500 out of a tank now on my A4 B7 TDiQ 170 Avant - ran a can of BG244 through it a few tanks ago, man that stuff has made such a difference!! Engine feels younger, and the car feels like I've removed a boot full of luggage. Most of my journey is back roads (A roads) then M25/M4 during rush hour and DIS reads 40mpg unless I spank it. Not bad for a big Quattro!!
