Hi guys,

I have a 2010 A3 1.6 TDI Sport and looking to change the rear diffuser for the sline honeycomb edition for a single exhaust.

Just wanted to see if this is a simple swap or will I require a new bumper?

Please excuse that the car if flithy :)

Many thanks
Aky

Straight swap. They're hard to find these days!

Search for Audi A3 Rear Diffuser on fleaBay, some guy had one for £50 the other day with free postage, there's a few on the bay.

I am after the same but for a dual exhaust, they seem to been even harder to find!

Second hand dual exhaust diffusers are like rocking horse stuff!

Tell me about! lol

Been searching daily on fleabay and Classifieds but no luck yet.

Found one on fleabay but was still attached to the rear bumper and they would not separate, wanted £350 for complete rear bumper!

I guess I shall have to keep searching :(

I'm also looking for the dual pipe version for my sport back, so I phone audi the other day. They quoted me £90 for the diffuser plus £30 x 4 for the inserts so it's £210 all together.

£210 isn't as bad as I thought Audi would charge for it but I will wait for a second hand one on fleabay to come up before I go to Audi.

Audi is usually my last resort for parts, due to there 'sometimes' ridiculous pricing.

For a twin pipe diffuser - private message A3KENT - he supplied mine for my A3 Black edition - I then sold my single pipe for £90inc postage - check my thread for pics etc..

LeightonUK - use the search function mate, there is so many threads about the S3 rear bumper and diffuser :)

Sorry, i'm unable to source these now. TPS or Audi is your best bet nowadays.

Be careful when buying them off eBay, make sure they include the mesh sections as a lot of them don't include them.

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum but thought I'd add to this, I spent a good few months watching ebay like a hawk but saw maybe 4 dual pipe diffusers appear, only one with mesh inserts. Audi supplied mine in the end, £90 for the diffuser and 4 mesh parts at cost price working out at around £190 in total.

One word of warning though if you do go to Audi, make sure they are ordering the correct parts, I had the wrong mesh section delivered as the guy ordered parts for a single pipe diffuser.

Fitting of the diffuser was fairly simple, the hardest bit was putting the mesh inserts into it.

Good luck,

Seb

And out of the ones I have read not one says if it's a straight swap they are normally just arguing about the different bumpers :/.

That's because you need to have a different rear bumper - the S3 bumper (and older A3 models) the bumper is in 2 pieces - the whole bottom part comes off (not just the diffuser) whereas the newer model (I think 2010 upwards) they are a whole bumper with ONLY the valance coming out. you therefore cannot insert a S3 diffuser into a newer A3 that has the valance option (as discussed at the beginning of this thread)

Every S3/RS3 diffuser argument has this very explanation - way around it? Buy an older A3 rear bumper that splits into 2 pieces and then buy the lower diffuser part of the S3 then merge them together. Or buy an S3 rear bumper with the diffuser already attached.

(re-read it, message comes across rude, but its not meant like that!) all friends here :)

Chers dude :) like is said they where all just arguing and making no sense :), just the images on ebay they look like a slightly bigger version of the normal ones, will just go for a sline one :)
