Hi folks, I'm new to the Audi "scene". I'm a regular on a few of the Honda forums, but that's because of my "other" car.
Just bought us a 2010 1.6 Tdi sport as a daily drive.
Its a lovely car to drive, compared to my former daily 306 I've been in for the past few years. However they have been some problems....
Water pump started leaking on the drive home from Stocksfield (nr Newcastle).
Coil light came on and car went into limp mode.
Now with full Audi service history and 100k on the clock you would have expected timing belt and water pump replaced? NOPE! It's a good job the water pump started leaking otherwise I would've never had known. Got a local garage to change them for me, that's my pocket £350 lighter, but more importantly it probably saved me a bill for a new engine.
The coil light issue. Plugged the car onto my mates Solus Ultra. It was giving a code for an EGR fault. So I took off the connecting pipe from manifold to EGR, it was clogged up with muck. So I cleaned it out and reconnected, then cleared the fault on the computer. All was well until yesterday when the coil light came on again.
I can hear the EGR valve clicking when the car is started. It does it quite a few times when car goes off too. Is this normal?
Ive done a fair bit of searching before putting this thread up, but I am struggling to find much info on the 1.6 TDi.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Tahir.
