So I have a 2.0 Tdi and I have these questions.
First gear feels powerless?

Maybe it's only me getting friendly with the clutch.

After second gear when I press clutch and change I hear a woosh sound almost like a dump valve?
<like 2 gear just when change woosh 3 press clutch release acceleration woosh>

( want to be sure it's not a problem )

Is there any way to reduce the engine noise ?

All these questions might sound stupid but I have never owned a diesel as I had a petrol 1.2............

Thanks

If its silly loud it might be a faulty diverter valve, might be worth getting it checked out. I've been in a few 140hp models and some have sounded different to others. The noise is more noticeable with non standard air filters

Bout 800, higher on a cold start, higher still if the heaters or demister is on high heat. It'll pick up revs to 1k by itself

Maybe the previous owner fitted an aftermarket dump valve? You shouldn't get a Woosh sound between gears.

Sound is still there. Plenty of power but when I release acceleration comes the woosh sound........ To be fair I was listening a lot to it lately and it sounds like it comes from the exhaust ( like between dahs board and rear seats , more like a pressure in the exhaust )
Booked in at AUTOAPS for a health and boost check ;) let's hope the best :)

How much does a health check cost? Lol
Just wondering cuz obviously just buying a used car i want it to be perfect before the warranty runs out lol
Icey, did you manage to sort the problems with your door mate?

How loud is the whoosh? Audible with your windows up?

Sure it isn't just the turbo whistle?

yes you can definitely hear it with the windows up.
Don't know if its from the turbo.
what happens is i'l pull away with first gear, and then second gear boost comes in and when i take my foot off acceleration and sound like woosh like relasing preassure in the exhaust or somewhere ( its sound like high pressure leak of some sort not sure.)

Mines the same but its only apparent between 2nd and 3rd. Sounds like a pigeon cooing. I quite like it tbh.

I have the same noise in my TDi 140 BKD, even with a brand new turbo fitted, so must be normal. Never been told any different by my mechanic/audi.

I like it :)

I think i know what your on about... At first i thought it was the Thrust Bearing but surely that would be mosty noticeable in 1st-2nd

I also have this noise, was expecting it to go as i had new boost pipes fitted today however still there. Car still pulls very well, even though i do have a high pitch noise from the turbo which i asked my garage if i should replace it or how long it will last. The reply was that i shouldn't worry too much and for the turbo lasting he replied with 'how long is a piece of string'. So overall until something gives way all is good!
