Im currently with direct line have 4 years no claims and am 25 years old im paying £155 pm and have just had my renewal through which will put me at 5 years no claims and its only dropped to £137 pm, now when i looked back in july i added a named driver on to my policy and got it down to £93 pm with protected NCD with swift cover now when i try to put my details in they have alot of errors that dont add up and basically they wont insure me one being i hold a full uk license and the other being the date of birth of named driver 67' and im thinking i may have to ring them and see whats what ! Best i can get through go compare is brooker insurance at £177 then 11 monthly payments of £101.

who do you guys use or recommend and whats you premium ??

Ive just turned 28 last week, had my licence for 6 years after a ban and I pay £290 odd for the year with esure fully comp which I thought was pretty good,

I got a quote for a b6 s4 about a month ago and it was £320! So that's what I'm after to replace my s2000 which is bang on £500 with Adrian flux on a separate insurance policy, so I have two lots of 6 years ncb which will soon be 7 in march so hopefully insurance will come down a bit more,

Both my policies are just me on it, no named drivers etc

I had a 2.8 v6 a4 when I was 25 with 5 years ncb and was around 450 for that, I had a 2.7t a6 the same year and was still under £500 so I can't understand why yours is so high brad?

You should go through the comparison sites and also have a look at signing up to Quidco. Cashback offers through their insurance comparisons. Sometimes adding an older driver helps drop the costs too, sometimes it puts the price up

I have just renewed my policy and have just included my 24 yr old boy who claimed last year. Weird thing was that the rates quoted on money supermarket.com went up and down by £100 during a week of checking. I registered with the site so I could check every day over a couple of weeks and jumped when the quotes went down. Cheapest quotes were from the Admiral group (elephant and another one). News to me was that Admiral require any driver awareness courses to be declared and the premium goes up if you have been on such a course. May only be Admiral though.

I have just realised that your premium was per month Brad! 4 yrs NCB and you are paying £1600 a year!

I'm 33 my wife is 32 and our insurance through Swinton is 633 pay that's with only 2yr no claims and two accidents claimed on it as well lol

Yep £1600, no points, 5 years no claims discount, driving 7ish years cheapest i can get is £1288 with booker insurance iirc !!

Are you guys mods declared aswell as im currently not at the mo !!

I don't have any mods on mine so no, but the s2000 premium came down with Adrian flux when I declared the coilovers etc which I didn't understand but didn't question haha

I think £1200 at 25 years old for an a4 is ridiculous!

Do you live in an area that's bad for car crime etc?

Well i do live in manchester so that could be partly why lol

I no i cant see how they can charge me so much i might phone them and give them the 3rd degree lol

Bradderz it's the BL postcode mate, mine was really high on the S3, since i've moved it dropped by more than 50%

Yeah, Postcode has a lot to do with it.

OL postcodes especially. Had a nightmare trying to insure the S4. Most insurers said they won't even touch modded cars in OL (and surrounding) postcodes. I disclosed all my mods, and went on money supermarket. I'm 42 with 21 years no claims and I've got 3 points on my licence and been driving 25 years. Best quote I got was £1200. Second best £7000! Worst one £12000!

I eventually got it through Adrian Flux below a grand. We both need to move mate! Outer Hebrides sounds good!

Just renewed my policy with Privilege today on my S4 for £212. I'm 34, 9 years no claims and my wife's on the policy as well. I'm delighted with the price.

Adrian Flux did me 20% cheaper than comparison sites on a 'modified' policy - even with a few points
just alloy wheels and tinted windows needed

[as in the saving more than paid for tinting back windows]

customer service is variable though.

£300, Chris Knott.
5000miles
no commuting
declared mods ( chipped to 206 and 315mms brakes) 16 years NCB ( actually about 40 years for me and 39 for her - but it doesn't seem to count ! )

I seem to be paying over the odds compared to some of you ?
