HI all has anyone installed a new setup recently?

thinking of a complete HD setup for the house

will also be looking for an alarm set up as well

any useful websites or places to purchase from would be greatly appreciated

thanks

I'm in that business.

CCTV is a mine field. You can buy cheap and get ok picture quality, or spend good money and go 1080p

How many cameras and how long do you want to store footage for? Also are you wanting to go IP megapixel or HD? There is a big difference

Hi mate

My bro in law has an awesome CCTV Setup at home and he is not too far from you, let me have a word with him and I will pass his details on to you, if he still has all the details etc.

Hi Cockney Boy yes looking at HD quality with a HDD type not sure how many cameras as they are expensive so will add as i go along i guess 2 HD cams for now.. prob looking at a few internal ones at a later date..
guess the key thing is to get a decent HHD box

I was looking at an 8 channel HD DVR yesterday with a 1TD drive for about £850 and day/Night domes 2.8-12mm lens for around £150 each.

Most important thing with HD is to use Non CCA RG59 Copper coated aluminium cable will give poor image quality, so spend the money on good cable

Any particular makes I should be looking at? For cams and dvr?

D-Link do a good "pro-sumer" range

I have the DCS-7110 HD IP Cameras (around £250 + VAT)
and the DNR-322 Network Storage box, with 2 x 1TB disks in them setup as RAID1.
