ok so i need help with prices,im going to be breaking my a4 b5 1.8t 1999.5 quattro sport

i have no idea on prices, im not going to be able to make it pass the next mot. time has run out on fixing the abs issue, just haven't got round to sending the abs module away,

has half leather interior facelift lights, rs4 18" alloys, ap coilovers not sure what else to take off and what to ask

or do i just ask £500-600 for it???

cheers

What's the part number of the abs module? I can have a look and see if the one on my breaker is the same. Or I could look at the quattro in the breakers near me for you as will be there at the weekend. As it seems a shame to break a quattro just for the abs module

well it does need a clutch too, plus timing belt is due! i know it needs front arb links. etc. just feel its going to cost me more to fix than just buy another car, plus the fact it does 18 mpg!

part numbers are
0 273 004 284
0265220408

nope, that module only came of the a4 quattro sport and one model of the a6, its a ****ing night mare, i bought one and it worked for like 5 minutes, now does what the last ine was doing,, locking the k-line

Might be interested in the coilovers, if they're the right price. If you do break, drop me a pm.

Give sulli a shout as he was breaking one. seems daft to break it for what it needs and what you buy for the money is likely to be only half as good a car.

Well dont hold back. Make me an offer. Infact if any one does was any thing just post.

Big question is can i make £500 breaking. Or should i just sell as is for £500-600?????

Problem is also the fuel consumption,
Be it a sensor, air leak or my uber short journeys. Either way 90 miles to £30 !!!

How many miles the coilovers done? Is it a saloon? Just checking they're the right ones. Ha!

I reckon you could easily make 500, think of the doors, boot and all panels etc. Interior must be worth a bit too. Wheels, brakes, there's so much shiz you can sell, it's just the time and space required to break a car that's hard.

Yea saloon. Well i had paper work that new seals were done. About 3 months before i bought it. And ive had the car 2 and half years. Theres no leaks and they ride really nice

Yer i can strip a car down in a few days. Ill just box it up.
Ill try to sell as one. But if i cant is it worth getting the locks and ecu?

I've been thinking and put my sensible head on, my b6 needs some tlc this year so I'll be spending cash on that (or persuading the Mrs to get a newer car for her) so won't be after the coilovers. Cheers though.

Bradderz_1988...get a dibs in! :)

Good lock breaking or selling it. Bradderz_1988, buy it as your daily to fix up and then you can take yours off the road to play big turbo :)

was told the facelift headlights are worth £100. got rs4 wheels, not sure what else is worth money?

ill be sad to break it, when i walk off the car park back in to work if i go out fitting, i see it and i cant decide, ive had this car longer than any other car and im just split, i dunno what to do, but the decider is the fuel consumption!

ah sprry i must have missed that, well id prefer to sell it as a whole car,

to be fair, i have the clutch sorted, the single mass flywheel setup. flywheel just needs machining, then need a abs module,

after that, just a little tidying, i mean £500 would let me sort my dads car out,

I was just about to put i may buy it if you want rid but look like i was beat so dibs after byzan please !!

Turbo is going on next week with injectors etc :) pulling my finger out dependant that is lol !!

well if you really want it, pm me and ill send pictures and whats up and what it needs, im always 100% honest, and my only reason is the mpg, to be fair i can afford to fix it, i jst cant afford to run it on a daily basis, 18mpg, i do very short journeys and it proberly doesnt help that it rarely gets warm or up to temp

My advice would be avoid breaking it at all unless you have buyers lined up for bits before you start.

The tqs I broke has finally gone after nearly two years in my garage, with it having been stripped and then partly reassembled with unsold bits just chucked back inside.

It was a nightmare, things that might seem attractive to other buyers weren't, couldn't even give away things like black headlining, rear diff etc, and the standard sport seats struggled to fetch 80 for the full set with door cards and Ali trim, despite a decent ad with good pics.

EBay is also a nightmare with most stuff, mostly it just goes unnoticed even with 99p starts.

In the end it left here as a tqs minus engine, front bumper, seats and door cards, ecu and clocks, abs module and front bumper, pretty much everything else went to be scrapped.
Working it out I broke even, but it took a while and a lot of effort and space, I wouldn't do it again.

thanks for the heads up,
ok so lets change tac here and ill explain whats the problems and then you tell me what you think its worth,
i dont want it to be a for sale thread and won't accept offers posted here, but i want to just weigh stuff up, and the way its looking is, id rather and sadly get rid of it for far less than id like. but if i can buy a ford focus (yes i know!!) and get a good 30mpg then id save up till winter and get a 1.9tdi fwd or quattro.

SO
from the inside
the aluminum trims are tatty, no idea why but there are pit marks like some one attacked it with a pointy screw driver
the seats and other interior is spot on for the age, no rips or marks ,
the clocks are good, but the dis does have lines, and unless you recognize the symbol its hard to tell
had a new window screen, bit irrelevant but means it has no stone chips or marks

so on the outside the bonnet has stone chips and ive tried to repair them best i can, the near side, side of the bumper got a scrape its not that bad but would require rubbing down to be 100%

there are marks round the car and the edges of the handles have corroded a little but nothing major, the bottom of the boot has some strange paint crazing going on, almost like old porcelain,
lights all round work, and are all good,
the engine bay, in very good condition, starts and pulls well. does need a clutch, which is very strange as some days it grips and is like a rocket and builds boost to 18psi. other days it starts slipping at 10-12 psi, but is perfectly drivable other wise, i do have a smf set up but need finalising with the flywheel machining to accept the larger cover
the abs module was dead when i bought it, maybe my biggest mistake,
any way so recently i bought a known working module and it worked for 5 minutes before shutting down. so no idea there

underneath the body is solid, not a spot of rust,
has a 2.5" s/s exhaust that i made and it sounds really nice, not loud but does have a nice tone to it. i also have a 3" decat,

so the things i know are it needs a right front arb link. as the rubber has broken away from the tube that sitting inside it,
theres a little squeak at the back, i can only imagine this is a top mount, but i only hear it when i drive slow and im going over bumps as i enter my road,
also to note it has ap coilovers, that was meant to have had new seals before i purchased it, also has rs4 alloys one needed a cap as it went walkies.
also to note it had new brembo discs and pads all round 15 months ago and new rear bearings 4/5 months ago.

so worth £500 or maybe even more?

Mine is exactly the same on the drivers side trim, it's so odd. I've never figured out why is done it. Sharp elbows? :moa:

forgot to say it also has a door trim missing, i have it, but the meatal clips have rusted, meaning i cant put it back on, the rest of them are going the same way, so would need a new set?

think it's dangling keys in the same hand as pulling the handle to get out, that's where the dinks were localised on mine, right under the handle

Yeah, that's my only guess, but it still seems odd. I mean how often can you smash your keys against the trim and not think "probably shouldn't keep doing that, it's getting marks"

Pesky previous owners!

If your banging it up on eBay, try it as a classified with best offer, and list it as you described here, it's pretty tidy, some seem to go for 1500-1800 so I reckon you would get more than 500, try 1000 and see what offers you get

Its cheaper to fix it than buy another car and possibly have the same issues?

Good luck with the sale.

Nope not in this case
Clutxh and timing belt and abs module. Plus mot and tax.

New car £300 only needs mot and tax. Know it wont need a thing as its hardly moved since last mot. Being my dads old car i know its history
