My s4 still has the stock exhaust. Do you guys think £500 for custom made ss exhaust is worth it? It's x pipe center with quad rear. Still has stock 4 cats too.

Also, is the stock exhaust worth any money? It's in great condition!

Is that how much you have been quoted - and is it from the CAT back?

Was looking at exhausts for my TDI170 and Milltek are £745. Seems a bit steep to be honest for an eggsauce. £500 would be more like it.

I paid £720 for a milltek cat back non resonated for my 2.0t fsi Quattro. For a good custom exhaust I was quoted £680 plus vat. If you can get one cheaper than that, I would be a little concerned about the quality. I've found cheaper ones but you get what you pay for as you know. As expensive as it is, it's something your only gonna by once... Or at least that's what I told the wife lol

I had a miltek on my old golf the baffles rattled and the weld split so I wouldn't pay that money for a miltek . And with a custom exhaust you normally get a lifetime guarantee .

Second milltek I've had, never had any problems, if anything they've been exactly as I expected. Not to mention a nice sporty sound without sounding like a nova with a drain pipe on it. Trouble with a custom exhaust is you can't always guarantee how it's gonna sound. Had 3 custom exhausts in the past.... All of them were sh*te.

I know what you mean they do sound good the milteks n/a cars are hard to get the right sound from but turbo cars all sound good with any exhaust I think

It could well be worth a punt as long as it is lifetime and the guy makes a good job or if there are problems he rectifies them with no questions asked, but as mentioned above you normally get what you pay for. I have custom DP's and they are excellent quality made/fitted by a reputable fabricator but I had spoken to folk that used him so I knew what to expect. Is there anyway you can see work they have already done?
Not sure what the standard Audi exhaust is worth, I'm keeping mine in case I sell the car and want to put it back to standard. I should get some money back on my Miltek also.

They seem to have done a few S4's, but have done plenty of RS4's. Dont know anyone personally, but I have had a couple of customers Jenson Interceptors get exhausts done there, and they were pretty happy. Might be worth a punt, as can sell it off if i dont like it ;)
