When i bought my s3, the owner said he removed it and fitted a aux cable as he didn't like the cd changer
( to standard headunit)

its a 2001 model.

So today i went to the rear, and tried to find the cable that supposedly attaches to the cd changer.

I couldn't see it, so i took out the sub, & rear panel. still carnt see it.

so my question, where is the routing from the head unit> wiring > to cd changer.

does it go over the wheel arch? or through the roof lining?

Please help

regards

I have a feeling it runs along the n/s under the carpet, it should end in the left hand compartment in the boot.

Let us know how you get on

Just a update.

My S3 8L according to Audi, didnt come with a CD changer as standard.

It has BOSE and the concert Headunit, so for future reference to anyone wanting to know it. That some S3's didnt come with CD changers. I will be retro-fitting it with the use of AUDI stuff..

the cable routes behind the dash to the passenger side then alongside the door sill, behind the rear passenger side panel and over the rear passenger side wheel arch. Mine also didn't come with a CD auto-changer or cable. I was going to retro-fit a CD changer but thought who carries CDs around nowadays anyway?

Ah. do you just run a standard headunit then?

I have a connect2 aux fitted to standard headunit, and it has background noise, which i hate!

Was just going to stick a cd changer in it for ease, but found out quickly it wasnt going to be a 10 minute job.

I have a factory fitted double din sat nav - so i don't have a CD player at all. Anyway, i spend most of the time listening and waiting for early onset of engine failure out of paranoia - i believe it called being a car enthusiast
