Hey guys, not been posting a lot, well, at all!

I have a 3.0 TDi Quattro. DPF delete and straight through exhaust (sounds nuts) and custom map. Estimated running at 300bhp but not had it on the dyno yet. Next on my list is an intercooler and working towards a hybrid turbo & high pressure fuel pump next summer.

Can anyone recommend any other upgrades that would be recommended as supporting mods towards the hybrid? Obviously the clutch will need done.

Cheers :)

Have you upgraded the brakes ?.
As far as I can see the DPF thing is only a visual check, If you have had yours gutted you should be good. If it's been replaced with a pipe then hopefully you kept the original DPF.
I am going down the same road as yourself, currently sorted a brake upgrade, improved the exhaust, will be sorting an intercooler upgrade next then a map and remove the DPF.
I think 300bhp will be enough for me.

Karl.

It's the delete pipe from darkside developments but I have a friendly MOT tester so not worried about it failing :) I've been looking at the 6 pot upgrade from D2 brakes but they certainly aren't cheap! What upgrade did you do Karl?

I upgraded the brakes to the S4 spec. Bought a complete set of brakes off an S5. They are 345 x30 vented at the front and 330 x 22 vented at the rear. They use the same calipers as my car car has already but they are painted black from the factory. The main difference is the caliper carriers which move the calipers out to accommodate the larger discs.
In my opinion this is more than good enough for street use, The larger 6 pot systems are good if you are going to be doing track days but really wasted on the road.

Good look finding a clutch for one of these :(

did you get a custom exhaust? Sound clip?

I'll upload a video to YouTube and link it on here tonight, went with the Darkside developments DPF delete and had the rear silencers removed with over sized round tips...the standard exhaust is actually very well designed (once you remove the silencers which are very restrictive!)

I'm pretty sure Darkside sell a clutch, if they don't then they will do soon as they now have a 3.0 tdi A4 as a development car :D

I'm sure they get there's from vw, I don't want to pay that price. apparently luk are distributing them end of January to resellers and desert storm found it for 200 quid.

Look forward to the vid...

Since the remap the flywheels been juddering, not sure if it's always been there or if it's down to the extra torque, must be putting out around 450lb/ft

Who did you map and how much if you don't mind me asking?

Mines juddering now ever so slightly and I want a remap but I'm not going to get it done until i've got a new clutch and fly. I have already got the flywheel though cheapest is 300 from buypartsby

Ecotune in Glasgow :) I got a "special" price though. Fully custom software as well! They're in the process of installing a 4WD rolling road so still don't know what it putting out.

The flywheel on mine judders mainly when it's cold but the clutch has never slipped on hard acceleration so I'm not too fussed about replacing anything straight away. Maybe do it just before the hybrid goes on

Mines never slipped either but that slight bit of judder annoys me, but its very minor most probably wouldnt even feel it.

Until i can find someone supplying a clutch for reasonable money ie not coming from vw i'll have to just wait

What hybrid are you going to use?
I am looking for an upgrade turbo of a friend's Touareg 3.0TDI and right now we are deciding betweend darkside GTB2566 or Loba LO350 hybrid for 3.0TDI.

The Loba kit is good but expensive 2600 euros. Darkside is more realistic at £1600 . Darkside will also send away your own turbo to be modified but I think that takes a while

I've got a local tuner who will hybrid my turbo and give me a loan of one while it's being done. I quite fancy buying a whole new unit anyway though to keep my old one as a spare
