We were up at Linn Cemetery today to put flowers down for our wee stillborn daughter we lost 5 years ago tomorrow-just a small communal plot with a small marker.
What struck me was the number of individual plots that, imo, were somewhat gaudy or even somewhat tasteless and over the top.
It,for me anyway, took away the serenity and peacefulness of the place.
I and my missus,of all people, know the need to be able to deal with the loss of a child but to me seemed just completely out of place.
Just wanted to see if folk had any opinions or am I just over-reacting?

I know where your coming from as I lost my neice at 6yrs old in 2001..I go regularly to make sure everythings all ok and the plot is presentable.
There are a few "loud" plots which arnt to my taste personally but I think because each person grieves differently they dress the plots individually according to their own tastes and the personality of the deceased..
One of those occasions where you have to respect others wishes and just make sure your happy with your daughters plot..

The local cemetery by where I live is like Blackpool lights of a night-time.
Everyone seems to have used solar LED lights - its abit crazy to say the least.
