Hi,

my S3's front wipers started off being really slow moving across the windscreen at any selected speed and now they won't move at all.
i've heard it's a common fault for the mechanism to corrode, is this true or could it be the motor as well?

Also would it be a a hard job to replace either or both the motor / mechanism. I couldn't find a sticky or how to on this nor another thread.

thanks.

Could be the mechanism that's worn and corroded or motor had gone. Only way is to take it out and see.

Take both wiper arms off and remove scuttle panel to gain access. Only a few nuts holding the mechanism in place. Will need a little bit of patience to manoeuvre it out.

how hard is the scuttle panel to remove because I had a go at it earlier but it wasn't budging!

If I remember correctly you pull it down and towards the front of the car.
