Great, its going to be nice one. Black on black!:p The waiting part is the hardest...even when it's quite close.

saw a 3 door black S3 last night - no idea what hue it was but it looked fantastic. i actually got excited when i saw it.

seen 3 red ones so far [2x 3 dr and 1x 5dr] and a glacier 5dr and the black just looks superb.

the red is obviously a popular choice due to the audi adverrtising campaign.

I've still not seen a new s3 on the road yet, which I find surprising being in in the busy midlands and going on the m1 every day on my commute. I'm off to Birmingham today so maybe I'll see one over there

I've not seen any in the south west either. Which is great as they're rare but also not good as I'm hungry to see it!! All this waiting is a good test in patience!

And lucky you too! Some people has to wait until March! :D[/QUOTE]

Cheers Moffe but its only come forward by 2 weeks, which is great but still been a 4 month wait!!

I've not seen another in North Wales or Cheshire yet, apart from the dealer demos.

Back on the Audi Connect... Can it use your smartphone if you are tethered to the car?

In a word, no. Simply, early cars (ie the non-4g ones) supported RSAP which means you would need an RSAP compatible phone for that to workCars with 4g (ie all new ones) don't have RSAP and only support having their own SIM card in the slot in the glovebox.

Oh mannnnn. So I can't use any internet services through my tethered android phone, only if I get a separate SIM? ******!

Im not fluent english speaker but doesnt 280bhp measured from wheels mean about 320-330bhp from motor? Drivetrain loss in all wheel drive cars in dyno is about 15%. So 280bhp from wheels sounds excellent result to me.

Just spoke to Ben and he's nearly done with it and says he's got a surprise for me so maybe! Unless the engine has spectacularly exploded all over his workshop and that's the surprise...

Torque is what matters really, so that's a good result there.

i'm a bit concerned there's less than the 300hp at the flywheel on good fuel.
i'd consider an explanation from Audi if I had my lower figures.
not good, and torque isn't the most important figure, its just one half of the equation, although turbo engines rely on torque, not ultimate power of course.
disappointing news imo.

PICK UP - Tomorrow at 10:00am. This is going to be a long night ;)

Is it not true that all cars come out of the factory with slightly different figures? Some S3's might be 310bhp, others 280bhp etc...

I guess the torque is the saving grace here...
