2013 Audi S3

Does anybody know if the 'registration date' found at the top of the forms you receive prior to pickup is the earliest you can pick up the car? I presume you can't drive on the roads before the official registration date?

INSURANCE?
Any of you guys had a decent quote back for the S3. I have been quoted £1000. I am 30 with a clean licence etc etc. Is a grand a decent quote?

Any comment appreciated.

There are many factors that influence the cost of insurance. A £1000 seems a bit steep for 30 with a clean licence. Do you have any no claims discount? I'm 28, clean licence over 5 yrs no claims, 3 declared incidents and it comes in around 450 quid fully comp with all the usual extras..legal expenses, use of third party vehicles etc.

Thanks. I have had an incident but was none fault for me. One thing that may hike my price up is I am getting my S3 on "contract hire" (basically a company car but its my company) which limits the amount of insurance companies I can use. Where was your quotation from? £450 is really cheap I would be happy with that.

£198 for a whole year? Thats solo low. Where was the quote from if you don't mind me asking.

It was with confused, Swiftcover came out lowest with 198 and AXA was just behind on 201. I'll be going through a cashback website when i renew so it will probably be another £30 cheaper.

17 Yrs NCD, Full Comp, Protected, Garaged overnight.

I just had a quote from Confused for £530... But... I told them I was the owner and keeper. I then changed the quote to what is actually true... It is a leased car. The quote straight away shot up to just over a grand. Seems this has a big impact - worth noting for all other drivers getting their S3 on contract hire.

32 years old, 7 years NCD, 1 x SP30, street parking and business use all for £180 from e-sure! Another fifteen quoted to do it for under £300...pleased as punch!

We are on 186 from LV. Legal European 10k miles and guaranteed bonus.. Joy being a sad old git !

Ive been quoted £324. Im 26, 3 points and 8 years no claims.

Insurance is mysterious... pretty sure no claims is the biggest factor in price. I'm 29 with no points and 4 years no claims and still having to pay £700 insurance for the standard A3! Only had a licence 4 years so that's probably a factor too.

Hi Camerson,

I was being quoted over a grand yesterday.

After a bit of shopping about, I manage to get a price of £558 from Admiral though.
A Couple factors seem to majorly hike the price up from my investigations, pretty obviously but they are:
• Location. If you live in the sticks it seems that your premium is more or less halved.
• Contract Hire. I am leasing my car and this is pushing the price up more than most peoples

Confused.com seemed to be the best comparison site for me.

I think you will get it for less that £700 matey.

I've been quoted £769 from Admiral. 23 years old, 0 points, 5 years no claims.

That's an excellent quote for under 25 - I paid more than that when I was 37 with my 2007 S3 (that was Audi Insurance though because they use genuine parts) - I'm an insurance broker and haven't asked Audi Insurance yet but have run quotes through our brokerage for my new S3 SB (don't really do private car but do have the facility) and am obtaining quotes around the £300 - £350

43 - Insured and Spouse - Garaged - 8000 Miles per annum - 15+ Years No Claims Protected

Yeh, I look around carefully every year. I used to be with Elephant (owned by Admiral), but they jacked their price up massively last year and refused to go lower when I phoned so switched to Direct line. Then I switched car and just told them, they added £94 to my premium (for the remaining 6 months) which wasn't too bad. Will see what happens when it comes to renewal time but I will be shopping around, I'm not loyal to any company in this regard!

Lee 63 r maybe?

I really hate PPs on nice cars. Take a look at where most PPs sit ,
Caravanners, white vans , BMWs and Vauxhalls. Why ???

L33ber was what I wanted but sadly it's not available. I've another on a 14 plate that I'm mulling over, should be available to buy on the 4th.

I too used to think that they were cheesy, but I seem to have mellowed somewhat in my old age. Sure there are still a few cheesy ones around but in the greater scheme of things, who cares? Some view it as vanity, some as just a bit of fun. I reckon most Audi drivers would probably fall into the latter category. The car itself is a lot more understated than most other hot-hatches no?

Another picture from dealer today. one week today I pick her up.

That's pretty offensive saying it belongs on a Vauxhall Corsa. I actually have taste in cars and that plate means a lot to me so I don't really give 2 sh**s what anyone else thinks.
I'd rather that than people know I've got a brand new car.

Only my opinion. You do what you like of course. Everyone will know its a new car or or you planning on not washing it ?

Don't take it too personally, I've only been posting for a few weeks but already noticed that every time someone posts a pic of a car with pp's PilotAudi feels the need to express his disapproval, I don't think he means to offend.

No it's not personal , you do what you like. But there will be those of us who will always think ' what a waste'

Car looks nice gefunk, ony problem is the photo quality, hope you take some proper pics when you take ownership.

Nice to see another 3 door, and those wheels suit the white.

I totally agree, what the hell is wrong with a PP on a "nice car"?? I've got one and it's going on my S3 when it arrives, why are some people so ****** opinionated, it's the car that counts, PP's are a personal thing. If people don't like em, don't buy em, it's really very simple! Good for you geefunk.

I was thinking of getting a pp myself, I think they look sick. My ideal one would be S3 PAL (my initials)

i might do and nothing is wrong. The only difference is that the choice of x's will have a little more meaning to me. I can afford to buy a car of my choice in the colour of my choosing built to the a spec of my choosing. Does that make me or you egotistical or vain? Of course not. Yet somehow spending another few hundred quid to get the letters of my choice on the reg turns me into a raving narcissist?

We all make judgements about people based on the various ways in which they express their individuality whether it be the clothes they wear, the way they speak, the car they drive or the fact that they choose to have a pp on their car. That makes us human but it doesn't mean that we are right to do it or that those assumptions are correct. Take a deep breath, it's just a number plate!

in the nicest possible way of course. :moa:
