Tri-Star and 'on time' doesn't go hand in hand I'm affraid! What and where are you?

Yeah don't I know it, seen enough of the delays, and by far they've happened to me. Damn planes.

Me, Afghanistan. Winning the war of course... :sex:

Pretty sure the tristar fleets all gone now, getting out of theatre is done by C17 (or C130 if you're unlucky) to Minhad then either the new Voyager Airbus or charter onwards

Wrong... Lol, Tri-Star are still in use, its only just now they're starting to bring Air-Bus in. Reason you don't see many Tri-Star, is just cause they're to unreliable , though they're still fully being used to ship troops to theatre and back, when available.

Really, sure there was an article on the defence intranet saying they had done there last service flight. Oh well, teach me to believe MoD journalism. Always liked the Arabic signs in the toilets from when we bought them from Gulf Air about 30 years ago

You're right, having a senior moment. To save face can I say the tristar should be retired

They'll be retired eventually. Probably not long after Afghanistan finishes, if this Airbus and so forth gets bigger.

I'm a firefighter in Wiltshire fire and rescue service

Not planning on striking are you?

no offence intended here but my brother is also a fire fighter and it annoys me when folk as stuff like this... these boys go out every day to work and risk there lifes to save the public.
my brother recently pulled a young kid out a burning house as the adult had got ****** and put a chip pan on and fell a sleep!!!
if anything had happened to my brother would this half wit look after his kids and wife?? I dont think so..

in my eyes yous boys don't get paid enough !!

Fire fighters I believe get paid enough for their job, us in the Forces that don't, i get shot at almost daily for what I call "pennies" only to hear that other public services members strike? (Not all in a deparment want to strike I understand that) bottom line is, it should be like the forces, and public services should be exempt from striking as you're working under Her Magisty The Queen!

Everyone gets annoyed, at digs, and so on, ( though it wasn't a dig) but think how we feel, "Fighting for your country" to only hear oh they're striking again over pay.
