What oil should I use 1.8t

Hi lads

My oil lights just come on I have no idea about engines so I'm asking the question on what oil I need to use.


Basically the car is 1.8t 190 s line it's got 92k on the clock and used only a few times a week it's going in for a full service in a s
Few weeks.


Any info would be great

I would use 5w 30, but best not drive around with the light on how low is the oil level on the dip stick?
 
I've not look yet to be honest the the light came on and I took it really easy while I got home so I was driving for about 20 mins. Going to check it once the oil is levelling out.

is it oil level or oil pressure ??? yellow=level , red =pressure

if yellow top up with 5w30 fully synthetic
if red stop immediatedly possibility the pick up is blocked
 
I didn't know that :s so I've just checked and its deffo yellow that's coming up just checked the dip stick and its just got onto min.

5w40 if you drive hard, castrol edge fst! Really good stuff all my pipes and pick up have stayed extremely clean using it
