Quick question for A4 Cab owners...

... can the 19" RS4 Alloys fit OK or is it best to go for the 18's?

The rs4 alloys I think are et29 and will poke out too much IMO. I used to run 19inch sportec mono10's but ride was fairly harsh and a pothole cracked one of my wheels so now running genuine 18 inch BBS LM's and just had the H & R coilovers fitted today. Handling is transformed!
 
I also have cabby and looking to upgrade from my OEM 17" to 19" RS4 wheels. I'm looking to find a set from the current model A6 which I believe has ET45.. This should fit our cars no problem even with 10mm spacers. It just doesn't seem to be easy!to find a set on eBay as they are all TT (et 52) or rs4 (Et29). I'm also considering aftermarket rs4 style wheels as the choose is so much greater.. I'm just struggling to find any info on which are the best quality and identical in terms of looks to the orm rs4 wheels...
 
Just to say that I'm finally getting a set of genuine RS4 wheels tomorrow so can let you know what they look like on a standard a4 convertible if still interested...

So I finally fitted the OEM RS4 Wheels with ET29 on my Cabby this Sunday evening. The wheels came with 255/35/19 tyres so I was a bit worried about how they going to fit.. I took it for a quick spin last nigh around some local country roads which are quite bumpy and full of pot holes... 20 min of normal driving with no issues at all, the steeling feels a tiny bit heavier (I believe due to wider tyres), car feels much more planted when going around corners which must by due to wider stance and again, wider tyres. I didn;t notice any noticeable difference in comfort but I definitely noticed less tyre suspension compared to my old wheels (235/45/17). I definitely like the way the car feels and drives with the RS4 wheels.. However, as I was about 5min from my house feeling very good about myself and the fact that I don;t have any issues with the wheels catching fenders, I suddenly run over a massive pot hole doing about 45mph. Only then I could hear a very short-lasting rubbing kind of noise as the tyre touched the bolt on the inside of the front wheel arch... I bit disappointing in the end, but I was expecting much worse to be honest. So next step will be removing the bolt and see if I still get rubbing issues when bottoming the suspension... The main thing that surprised me however was the fact that larger wheels made the gap between the wheel and the wheels arch much bigger for some reason. With the old 17" OEM wheels, I had about a finger large gap between the tyre and the wheel arch, and from a normal standing hight, there was actually no visible gap and the car looked nice and low. Since I fitted the RS4 wheels, the gap is now much bigger (about 4-5cm) which doesn;t make it look all that cool with those 19" beauties... So it seems that a new set of AP Coilovers will be making it to the top of my Christmas list this year:)

Here's a picture with my old wheels just before the swap. The gap between the wheels and arches look a bit larger that I described, but this is because the picture was taking from almost ground level making it look bigger than it actually was...

Thanks guys. Love the wheels MaikySupra! My cab is the same colour and was thinking do I go for Rotor 19's? Grey RS4 Alloys? Or the silver ones?! I can't decide! Or stay at 18's?!
 
Thanks! I had the same dilema, sort of... I wasn't even considering the OEM RS4's with ET29 at first, but more research I did into different wheels, options etc., more I got convinced that if I'm to spend that sort of money on new wheels, it better be worth it. My old ones were 17" with (almost) new PIRELLI tyres and I already liked the looks very much, so I didn't feel like going with 18" would make a whole lot of difference and justify the price of getting new rims & tyres if you see what I mean. Also the price difference between 18" and 19" was relatively small anyway. I must say that I really like the look of my new 19's on the cabby, and I absolutely love the RS4 wheels!!!! (I haven't been able to find replicas that I would feel good about spending £500+ on). But I definitely need to get a set of coilovers as it just doens't look right unless it's lowered (at least it doesn't with ET29)... So unless you are prepared the spend more $$$ on your suspension (and potentionaly other things that prove neccesary once the car is dropped.. eg. rolling fenders, removing well liner, adjusting camber or god knows what else..), then just stick with some larger offset and avoid OEM RS4 wheels. ET35 should be just right without need for spacers. In terms of size if you already have 17's, I would just go with 19's if you are after RS4 style (either reps or A6 LeMans) as I think they look much better in this size...

I love them on A3, but I'd genuinely love to see what they look like on a cabby mate!
 
Looking nice fella. I have the LeMans wheels in 19" with the same size tyres as you. Mine sits ALOT lower than yours.
So I wonder if mine has been lowered by a previous owner as I suffer over bumps and dips in the road with wheel rubbing.
Nightmare.

What offset are you wheels?
 
If I remember correctly the LeMans wheels are ET48... Steve77: Are you using Spacers?
 
I think I have answered my own question with the Rotor wheels. Had an A5 for the last two months (same colour grey with Rotors on) and it seemed to work on that car, but think they may look a little odd on a B7 Cab.
So I am going to go for thr RS4 wheels like you, Maiky!

One thing I have found with the rep ones is that they seem quite 'flat' compared to the bowl look on the proper RS4's Maybe they flat ones are the wheels which were used on the Final Edition B7's?. Is that the case?

Think you are right, ie that the cab won't suit rotors. Also right that the 'final edition' look very similar to Rs4s except for the offset. I was lucky enough to get a set of genuine final editions and they look exactly the same offset as the ome ronals that the car came with so no rubbing issues, they just look better.
