I've been searching for ages to find a DRL-style headlight that was just right, but none of them quite hit the mark. Finally, I think I've found one. Here it is; direct from Dectane by the look of it.

It seems to have everything I want; separate dipped and main beams, LED indicators and built-in alignment motors; not a bad price either. Has anyone had any experience of them?

Jeff you have more taste, don't mate they look very tacky, just get me to fit some bixenons :)

So avoiding the Devil's Eye is the preferred solution?
The collection has some chrome lights, suitable for the silver car, and black lights, suitable for my black cab.

In my black car, the clear chrome lights are very "bright" looking, so a certain amount of blending would seem appropriate.
Similar to having tinted DRLs in the lower grilles. For my money, too many little bits of contrasting colour break up the flow across the car.
The trick is to get the horizontal stripes into the perception, to make the car look wider.
YOMD.

I've yet to see a DRL / B8 style / LED etc etc etc headlight for the B7 that doesnt look horrendous.

Personal opinion of course.

In the end, that's why I decided not to buy a set, but chose the separate grill insert versions instead.

To me, devil's-eye is very much a BMW look, so I wouldn't choose it for an Audi.

Ah, for me Halos are BMW, Devil's eye is Audi, Citroen have the vertical DRLs, and the rest have horizontal ones in the lower grille.
(I like the lower grille where the bar already exists, and then adds the DRL, like the Mercedes SLK R172, but with my solid, built-in grille bars, I cannot do this)

Ah yes, now you mention it, I realise I got my terminology confused. When I said about BMW, it was of course the halo rings I was thinking of. I hadn't actually heard the term devil's eye used to describe the Audi set-up, but it's obvious when you think about it.

Annoying that BMW have managed to nab four rings for the DRL design.

As I've looked at more designs, interesting how they do differ.
Jaguar have tiger-eyes (sloping and curled up at the ends)
Lots of little differences (Kia are very close to Devil's eyes), but all the LED DRLs look better than the "lights on" style, IMHO.

Yours look great; definitely one of the best options. And so easy to fit...

The "starline" drl's look more OEM

Only thing that gets me is they're all none xenon

I like them above

Plus one with Leegsi but I would only commit to that malarky if they were better than than oem in terms of performance....I wouldnae compromise just for the DRL look.....During the winter months I need as much light as poss' for safety reasons as I drive so much of the time without street lights. I could think of a few mods I would prefer to spend my money on before investing in this....but that's just mho.

Cheers

Every report I read about the replacement headlight units was that the light output on dipped beam was really poor, so I couldn't see the point of buying them, however OEM they might look.

I have a set of these on mine. The previous owner fitted them. The bulbs they come with are appalling to be honest. I'm going to see if I can get hold of a decent bulb upgrade. IMAG1079 1IMAG1343 1 1
