after regretting selling my B6 A4 I've got another one, but sadly the new one don't have cruise or dis fitted which I'm gonna be retro fitting it, what I was wanting to know is there a way to find out what steering control unit is fitted without removing the wheel to see if my current one is compatible or if I need to order the correct one.

Thanks

Gav

if it's the module on top of the column you are on about then the easiest way is to remove the two torx screws and removed the top of the cowl and check.

It's the u shape one, I'll have a look tonight cheers

I had a look, turns out I need a different controller :-(

Part number ending in S which isn't dis or cruise compatible

I've managed to get a controller on eBay complete with cruise stalk, dis stalk and indicator stalk for £69

Thread revival here

So in theory if my car has cruise control as standard all I need to do is fit the wiper arm with controls for DIS as my module should already support it?
I know the coding will need changing, but I have vag-com so that isn't an issue.

Yep It would have to be an L or N min.

yes if you have cruise dis is plug an code

Cheers guys I'll have a look for a stalk on eBay, breakers, etc at work why I'm on nights tonight then.

Revisiting this as I have bought a new steering wheel, so would rather fit a DIS stalk at the same time.

Does anybody know if the stalk from a B7 Avant would work?

If you have a b6 b7 it will work

That's good then as I've found a B7 stalk for half the price of a B6 one.

Cheers for that :beerchug:

Jim how do you fancy coding my Cruise Control once I have fitted all the components. I'm happy to give you a few quid mate. Is the DIS just the wiper stalk with the rocker switch on the end or am I mistaken?
