So i need a new clutch.
Mine was slipping when i was winter, and now when summer is almost over and APR is releasing a new 2+ version, i'll need a new one ASAP.
i'm now going more than stage 2+ and and i DONT want chattering clutch so i chose the DMF option, i understand the LUK is half the price of the OEM and is exactly the same.
my only question is about the clutch itself. does Sachs have more than 1 option to match the DMF? if so, what are the differences? what do i need and how does it feel vs. the original clutch pedal? i'd like to stay as OEM as possible in terms of pedal feel and noise.

oh and also, do i need the master cylinder part also? the sachs or OEM?

10x guys.

if u get a sachs clutch then u will need a sachs dmf .

if u get a luk clutch then u will need a luk clutch.

if u want to uprate clutch then u will need a clutch which matches whicj ever dmf u get sachs being the better out of the 2.

if u want oem peddle feel then stick to standard clutch

if u upgraded clutch it will be slighty heavy under foot than standard.

What are u talking about? I read every clutch thread out there. Sachs are not making DMF, only SMF. everyone are saying Sachs clutch +luk flywheel is the best combo for stage 2+. So which Sachs clutch are they referring to?

Oh, and for the oem advice, oem won't hold stage 2+, it slips.

We are talking about the S3. For I forgot to mention that.

some confusion on this thread!

If you want to sTay with the Dmf then you are right to think you can use a luk Dmf or any other which is made for the 8p s3, they are only alternatives to the oem unit and fitment will obviously be the same.

I went for the smf option (loba) and as said chatter is minimal.

Don't be fooled by everyone on here who says it feels oem or only slightly heavier, the sachs clutch Is much heavier to the point where it can take some of the comfort of use away, I'm now used to it however it is miles heavier than oem which had little weight

Also I'd like to add that the biting point is different to oem also, it's very high

Thanks for the detailed reply.
I guess that's not as oem feel as they say. Any other option for oem-like weight and bite point? Does the flywheel (SMF or DMF) has any influence on the pedal feel?

I can't see how flywheel could affect pedal feel, I'm no mechanic but when the pedal is pushed down the clutch and pressure plate are pulled away from flywheel
