Baffled sumps?

Hi guys. Just wondering how important these are on an amk s3. Im going to be using my car on track hopefully around october. Im told the 1.8t is known to blow bottom ends very easily. Just wonderjng how true this is. Do i need one right away or should i be ok. Any help would be great thanks. Daz
 
If I were using my car on a track I would fit one personally... have seen a few failures in the past but its really down to how you drive... if you are aggressive then fit one... if not you should get away with it...

Had a TT in a while back for an engine re-build as it lost oil pressure and span a bearing while on a Forge action day at Combe...

Thanks for speedy reply as always. I was told that basically if i dont fit one something will happen. And im having a head recon and rods fitted so i may aswell fit it at that point. Im sure it makes sense but there always seems something else i may aswell do if you know what i mean.

I know what you mean... I want to fit one on mine just for peace of mind... the Forge one looks very good value...

I bought a forge one a few month back and it seems to be a decent bit of kit.

:laugh: one track mind. haha.

Cornering and braking andrew, cornering and braking are the primary reasons why one should fit a baffled sump.

Very few people can accelerate at warp factor 14 like yours :laugh:
