I have a '00 1.8T sport (non DBW), pain in the **** only being 2wd but I'll live with it.

Anyway, I've already took the car to the good side of 200bhp with the usual mods (remap, exhaust, milltek outlet), however I'm wanting to achieve more.

I want to take the car to 250bhp+, more if possible. What do you think represents the best value way of doing this?

Best value at the moment would be a JBS04 conversion I recon.

If you want more, then try a big turbo setup.

I've heard of 320bhp cars, now got no idea how much it would cost to take the a3 to that sort of spec, nor would I want to invest it in a 2wd model. However my ultimate goal for my a3, is to achieve a car that can hit 100 in less than 13s (without weight reduction, as that would be too easy), and I estimate I'm going to need 270bhp at least to get there.

However, I was budgeting myself roughly £1500 to get the car running to a good engine spec. Its a rough figure, but if £1500 was going to take me to 250, and £2000 to 280, I could stretch for that no probs.

What sort of spec should i be looking at achieving for that sort of budget?

I got my car well cheap (£3500 for a '00 T-sport, with leather/climate control/etc), so happy to invest a bit back of what I saved
