New to the forum, of which I may have found beneficial if id read some threads on what's in re options and trim.
Any way the car was ordered yesterday.
I had done some research and had settled for A3 Sportback 1.6TDI SE with the following options.

Comfort Pack + Park Assist
UH2 Hold Assist
SD Sat Nav
Milano Leather
Storage and Luggage
Manufacturers OTR £24,090
Broker £22,448
Difference in price £1642.00

I headed into my local Audi Monopoly (sorry dealership). Knowing they wouldn't price match the other 3 Dealerships in the area as they share the same owner, my plan was to see if they would give me Options rather than discount to the value of the price difference.

So with emails and spreadsheets printed in I went, very upfront I advised £1100.00 was to large a difference to ignore (1642.00 - broker fee - delivery charge up the country).
I negotiated PUR interior trim, rear camera and adaptive cruise control at no extra cost.

Having just test driven the Sport and not experiencing the potential negative of harsh ride. But liking the higher trim level and residual value further negotiations begun.

If I exchange the Milano Leather for Alcantara
& ditch the Adaptive Cruise Control how much??????
£24800ish,
can you try harder please?????
£24282
sound good, and that's my deal (£25565 worth)

A3 Sportback 1.6TDI Sport Amalfi White
Comfort Pack + Park Assist
UH2 Hold Assist
SD Sat Nav
Extended interior elements mono.pur
Alcantara Leather
Storage and Luggage
Reversing Camera

Now I have I very long wait.

Hi, welcome to audi-sport.net and the 8v section. Nice spec to the car. Look forward to hearing when your build week and delivery are. Enjoy the forum. :) x

Im wondering when the Dealer will be able to advise me of Build and Delivery dates?
Would this info be available in say 4 weeks time?

He should get a build week as soon as the order is put into the system by him - at least that's how my dealer told me it worked.

Once he's put it into the system it then has to be accepted by Audi before it is given a build week by the factory. Usually takes a few weeks to do this.

Really? I got my build week about 3 days after ordering

All depends how quickly it's accepted. Mine took 3 weeks, a friends only took a few days. I believe dealer allocations and availability of extras etc play a part.

Dealer has advised early November for build, December for delivery.

Out of interest I asked if changing from Sport to SE suspension/ride height would affect my delivery date. I was advised delivery would be March.
Ive test drove the Sport suspension and thought the ride was ok, but reading forum threads makes me question my decision.
I will stick with Sport and give it an honest review.

One of my nearby Audi dealers (Camberley) matched the drivethedeal price when I went in with the print out. Took like 10 mins, over £2k saved. Maybe bit late if you've already ordered but if you go in with the print out and say you'll order then and there, expect most dealers will match broker.

Whom of the above are you referring to Rup?

Flugel, nice spec.

I have the 1.6 TDI and have completed about 13k now . Generally finding it good , maybe a bit underpowered in some circumstances but getting 60 mpg average and have seen 80mpg !!

Hope you enjoy

Chester

Chester how do you find the Amalfi White under different light sky's?

I currently drive Passat Estate 1.6TDI so underpowered to you may be pokey for me ;-)

Dealer called me last week to say the build has come forward to the 4th Nov (was 7th) and the delivery should be end Nov instead of mid December. Amalfi White is still on my mind.

Ive already planned my next Sportback for 3 years time, another Sport but instead of diesel go for 1.4TFSI 140bhp S-tronic in Red. I will also be better informed on what suspension choice to go for.

Will not tell the wife of the early date and surprise her one evening soon.

Welcome to the forum :)
I had an A1 1.6tdi 2013 for a courtesy car last week.
I found It very lacking about the town at lower speeds.
I don't know if the engine is the same spec as the A3's?
Once u were out the road 50+ it felt very responsive :)
Only thing that niggled me was it only had 5 gears.
On another note I'm driving a 2.0 tdi so what's lacking for me is another mans pleasure :)

Well, since my delivery date was brought forward excitement has been building.
Im now at the point where I no longer fill the tank of my current car to the brim as it has an 800 mile range.
This time in 2 weeks Amalfi White A3 SB 1.6TDI should be here.

I've just got mine, difference in the A1 1.6 TDI and the A3 1.6 TDI is light and day.
Great power for normal driving short on power if you want to blast past someone on an A road if they are doing 60ish.
Its just a balance act on what you want to outlay and performance MPG.
For a getting to work car the 1.6 TDI is a great car.

Delivery date has been put back to early December. Should have been getting it about now so a bit disappointed.

I am wondering if 6 gears means I will be changing gear a LOT more often?
I Don't mind the 5 gears on my current Passat

I swap between a 5 & 6 gear cars and I find is very similar, you generally just use 6th on dual carriageways and motorways, so for most driving doesn't make difference.

early December isn't so far, it will be worth the wait.

Hi, I also have two cars one with six gears and one with five. The only difference is that the lower gear in the five speed need to be held in a lower gear at the same speed that my six speed can be in a higher gear. Thus, if I am going along at 30mph the five speed prefers third gear, where as in the six speed I get go into fifth. On both cars the top gear is more or less the same at motoway speeds. It all really depends upon the gearing and the final drive ratio...
